This dataset includes ocean pressure, temperature, and salinity data from 68 (CTD) profiles acquired in the Prydz Bay region. These austral summer observations were taken across the shelf to the continental slope, to depths up to 3650m, and along the ice-shelf from the Chinese icebreaker R/V Xue Long. Primary ocean station data (pressure, temperature, salinity) collected in the Prydz Bay region during the 28th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition (CHINARE28) cruise, obtained during the summer cruise (28 February - 4 March, 2012) of the Chinese icebreaker R/V Xuelong.

This data set is a hydrographic survey collected by CTD and ADCP throughout West Antarctica, but largely in the Bellingshausen and Amundsen Seas, during the research cruise NBP19-01 on the research vessel Nathaniel B. Palmer. Each of the 78 stations provide full-depth profiles of temperature, salinity, oxygen, fluorescence and PAR. Velocity profiles were also collected from a Lowered Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (LADCP). The temperature, salinity and velocity measurements have been calibrated and quality controlled (see link to cruise report below). All other properties have not been calibrated at this time. Ocean pressure, temperature, and salinity data are reported from 85 CTD profiles acquired in the Bellingshausen Sea. These austral spring observations, taken along the continental shelf slope to a nominal depth of 500m (interspersed with a few full depth profiles), comprise a portion of several related data sets obtained during NBP07-09, from Punta Arenas to Punta Arenas, Chile. Additional sampling was undertaken for physical, geochemical and biological parameters of sea ice and upper ocean, as well as ocean currents and continuous underway mapping of sea surface properties, meteorological variables and bathymetry.

This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and suspended particulate matter taken by CTD, nets, and other instrumentation in the Bering and Chukchi Seas from the research vessel icebreaker Xue Long during the 5-th Chinese National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition (CHINARE5). The objectives of the CHINARE5 were to improve understanding of basic environmental information of marine hydrology in summer 2012 in areas of the Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea, Chukchi Sea Rise, and to provide basic information for global climate change research. The main work was undertaken through sectional observations of the aforementioned sea areas. Data are in CNV, XLSX formats. This dataset is U.S. State Department MSR U2012-020 as part of the World Data Services for Geophysics and Oceanography.
