Current, temperature, and other data were collected from the Willapa Bay Current Meters (NE Pacific limit-180) from 01 June 1995 to 24 March 1996. Current data include velocities, directions, u and v components of velocity, and temperatures. Data was collected by the University of Washington School of Oceanography and is formatted as ASCII files.

Current meter - direction and other data were collected from FIXED PLATFORMS in the North East Greenland Sea from 18 July 1992 to 27 July 1993. Data were collected by the University of Alaska - Fairbanks; Institute of Marine Science (UAK/IMS) in support of the Northeast Water Polynya Study under National Science Foundation grant #OPP9113887. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F005 - Current Meter Data (Resultants) format. The F005 format is used for time series measurements of ocean currents obtained using moored current-measuring instruments, principally Aanderaa current meters (manufactured by Aanderaa Instruments Inc.). These data represent the Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed mooring point and measure flow past the sensor. Position, water depth, and sensor depth are reported for each station. The data record comprises values of current direction and speed at specified date and time. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering and are typically reported at 10-15 minute time intervals. Other environmental parameters may also be reported. These include: water temperature, salinity, conductivity, and transmissivity; wind direction and speed; and dominant wave direction, height, and period. A text field is available for optional comments.

Temperature, salinity, current, and other data were collected from CTD and current meter attached to fixed platforms in the Pacific Ocean (Alaska). Data were collected as part of the Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI) from 12 September 1996 to 28 September 1996. CTD data include temperatures and salinities. Current data include the U and V component velocities. Data format is ASCII files.

Data from 29 current meter stations. These measurements were made in the Hawaiian Archipelago and near Palmyra on the Line Islands Expedition between 1965 and 1968. The data include station number, dates, depth, time zone, current speed (cm/s), current direction (degrees true north). Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard High-Resolution CTD/STD (F022) format. The F022 format contains high-resolution data collected using CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) and STD (salinity-temperature-depth) instruments. As they are lowered and raised in the oceans, these electronic devices provide nearly continuous profiles of temperature, salinity, and other parameters. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering or obtained by interpolation and may be reported at depth intervals as fine as 1m. Cruise and instrument information, position, date, time and sampling interval are reported for each station. Environmental data at the time of the cast (meteorological and sea surface conditions) may also be reported. The data record comprises values of temperature, salinity or conductivity, density (computed sigma-t), and possibly dissolved oxygen or transmissivity at specified depth or pressure levels. Data may be reported at either equally or unequally spaced depth or pressure intervals. A text record is available for comments.

Temperature, salinity, current, and other data were collected from CTDs and current meters deployed by the Geological Survey off the west coast of California (NE Pacific limit - 180) from 05 May 1987 to 09 May 1991. Current data include east and west velocities, velocity directions, and rotor speeds. CTD data include temperatures, conductivities, and salinities.

The water depth and temperature data was collected in NE Pacific (limit-180) from ship SEA-LAND PACIFIC. The data was collected from September 19, 1990 to October 21, 1990. The originator's bathythermograph (XBT) data was collected as part of Shipboard Environmental data Acquisition System (SEAS) III program and was submitted in a 3.5 inch diskette by Mr. Paul Stevens of U.S. Navy, Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center, Monterey, CA. The data has been converted and is now available on line in C116 file format of NODC.
