Hydrographic and Plankton Data, 1960-1965 (NCEI Accession 7101194)
During 1952/63 the Institute of Oceanography undertook an extensive seasonal survey of hydrography and plankton in the south-west Indian Ocean as part of the International Indian Ocean Expedition. No digital data are currently associated with the content of this data accession.

Plankton and other data were collected using net casts in the Beaufort Sea from the USCGC GLACIER and other platforms from 04 August 1972 to 17 May 1979. Data were collected by Dr. Rita Horner of National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) with support from the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP) project.

This dataset represents only a SMALL SAMPLING SUBSET of the Sir Alister Hardy Foundation for Ocean Science (SAHFOS) "Continuous Plankton Recorder" (CPR) dataset, covering only the years from 1995-1999, and demonstrates the geographic coverage and the species coverage sampled by this project. The complete SAHFOS dataset contains over 170,000 samples, sampled from 1946 to the present in the North Atlantic and North Sea regions.
