The Australian Census Longitudinal Dataset (ACLD) is Australia's largest longitudinal dataset bringing together a 5% random sample of around one million records from the 2006 Census with corresponding records from the 2011 Census. It provides a unique opportunity for researchers and policy makers to examine pathways and transitions of population groups, such as unemployed individuals transition into the labour force. Over time, the ACLD will continue to grow as records from each new Census are linked which will further enhance its longitudinal view. The ACLD will also be augmented in the future to take account of migration and births that occur between Censuses.

This dataset is now retired, please refer to the Disability Services National Minimum Data Set – Annual dataset. The purpose of the Disability Services National Minimum Data Set (DS NMDS) collection is to facilitate the annual collation of nationally comparable data about National Disability Agreement (NDA) funded services, and to obtain reliable, consistent data with minimal load on the disability services field. Under the NDA, the Disability Administrators in all Australian jurisdictions are responsible for ensuring that DS NMDS information will be comparable across all jurisdictions and years.

Count of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons aged 15 years and over who in the two weeks prior to Census night spent time providing unpaid care, help or assistance to family members or others because of a disability, a long-term health condition or problems related to old age. This includes people who are in receipt of a Carer Allowance or Carer Payment. It does not include work done through a voluntary organisation or group. The data is by LGA 2016 boundaries. Periodicity: 5-Yearly. Note: There are small random adjustments made to all cell values to protect the confidentiality of data.
