Owners, tenants, and public housing and Defence Housing residents can apply. Lessees on Council leased land and official citizenship ceremonies within the Brisbane Local Government area to plant on their properties. Brisbane City Council offers a variety of native plant species for residential properties and entities that are suitable for all garden types and sizes. Brisbane City Council’s Sherwood Arboretum features one of Brisbane's best collections of Australian native trees. This spatial dataset includes detailed profiles on over 1,000 trees and shrubs from over 250 species located at Sherwood Arboretum. Sherwood Arboretum (a collection of trees) is part of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens collection. This heritage-listed site was established for Australian native trees and officially opened on World Forestry Day on 21 March 1925. Covering an area of 15 hectares the site features several botanic collections including riverine, dry rainforest, dry sclerophyll, fig avenue, freshwater wetlands, and the main attraction being a grand avenue of 72 kauri pines. The dataset was created using data from an external service called Trumba. The data is a transformed extract created using the Trumba Calendar API XML feed, that is limited to the next 1,000 events. The transformed extract is converted to a CSV file and uploaded into this dataset daily. Brisbane City Council has decided to partner with the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA). The ALA will be used to capture and manage Council’s flora and fauna data. Council will be progressively loading data onto the site. ALA is a collaborative national project that aggregates biodiversity data from multiple sources and makes it freely available and usable online. This dataset provides a link to download wildlife (flora and fauna) data for the Brisbane region from ALA. An ALA account is needed to download data. This data could be from many data providers. Any use of the data downloaded is governed by the terms and conditions specified on ALA, please read these to confirm attribution for any data used. This dataset combines Brisbane City Council property information with the Queensland Government Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) to show property holdings in Brisbane City Council area. A property holding is a Council-defined and managed information entity. Its boundaries are generally based on land parcels. A property holding may consist of one or multiple land parcels. The Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) is the spatial representation of every current parcel of land in Queensland, and its legal Lot on Plan description and relevant attributes. It provides the map base for systems dealing with land related information. The DCDB is considered to be the point of truth for the graphical representation of property boundaries. It is not the point of truth for the legal property boundary or related attribute information, this will always be the plan of survey or the related titling information and administrative data sets.
