Aquatic flora surveys were conducted in Wilson Inlet in 2007 and 2008. Surveys were conducted again in December 2017, April 2018, December 2019, December 2020, December 2021 and December 2022 by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation as "Wilson Inlet Seagrass Survey". Repeat surveys of aquatic flora were conducted in Princess Royal Harbour in 1996, 2003, 2005 and 2006.
