This layer shows landslide hazard zones of the area covered by the Tasmanian Landslide Hazard Map Series: Launceston. This data was created through a grid based modelling process and converted to shapefiles for distribution. This grid based data has been converted to a shapefile fro distribution. There is consequently, some pixellisation of the polygon boundaries.

Launceston geomorphology - structural surface dip direction and slope points

This dataset (geomorphology_point_dips.shp) contains data in point form showing the dip direction and slope for structural slope surfaces identified within the area of the Tasmanian Landslide Hazard Map Series: Launceston. The surfaces themselves are delinated as polygons within the accompanying Launceston geomorphology - structural polygons dataset (geomorphology_polygon_structural.shp). This point shapefile has been generated using ArcGIS software.

This dataset (geomorphology_poly_depositional.shp) contains polygons delineating depositional geomorphic features of the area covered by the Tasmanian Landslide Hazard Map Series: Launceston. The data has been generated through a combination of simplification of surficial deposits shown in the seamless 1:25 000 geology data held by MRT and aerial photography interpretation. The shapefile was created using ArcGIS software.

Features consist of surficial units identified in the 1:25 000 geology map of Tasmania and reclassified based on depositional environment. The features provide an indication of surficial units that were thick enough/ important enough to be depicted in the geological mapping process.

The data within this dataset is extracted directly from the geological polylgon dataset based on a query on the field SYMBOL. This unit is depicted on the rockfall map to indicate areas that could be rock fall source zones if disturbed.
