A similar service with a ‘multiCRS’ suffix is available which can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS 84 ≈ GDA2020 environments. In due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended that the original service name will adopt the new multiCRS functionality Metadata Portal Metadata Information Content TitleNSW Administrative Boundaries Theme - ABS Regional Boundaries - Local Government AreaContent TypeHosted Feature LayerDescriptionAustralian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Statistical Geographical Standard Boundaries Suburb divides an area of interest throughout the state of NSW on which statistics are collected for purposes under the Census and Statistics Act 1905 (Cth). The Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) brings together in one framework all of the regions which the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and many other organisations use to collect, release and analyse geographically classified statistics. The ASGS ensures that these statistics are comparable and geospatially integrated and provides users with a coherent set of standard regions so that they can access, visualise, analyse and understand statistics. The 2016 ASGS will be used for the 2016 Census of Population and Housing and progressively introduced into other ABS data collections. The ABS encourages the use of the ASGS by other organisations to improve the comparability and usefulness of statistics generally, and in analysis and visualisation of statistical and other data. The ABS Structures are a hierarchy of regions developed for the release of ABS statistical information. The main components are as follows:,
NSW Topographic Map

Export DataAccess API Metadata Portal Metadata Information Content TitleNSW Topographic MapoContent TypeWeb MapDescription Map Cache Web Service provides rasterised topographic maps in a seamless mosaic view covering NSW. This service generally contains the current standard Topographic maps from the 1:100,000; 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 series. Where coverage exists at multiple scales, the largest scale map is displayed. The sourced Geotiff file is cropped to the map window only, with no legend, disclaimers, map grid, scale bar or north arrow displayed. The NSW Topographic Map series is derived from Spatial Services’ Digital Topographic Database (DTDB). Information viewed in this web service includes:• Roads• Points of interest• Localities• Contours• Drainage• Cultural data• Parks and forests• Property boundaries. This web service allows users to easily integrate the topographic map cache coverage for NSW into Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant spatial platforms and applications. The NSW Topographic Map Cache web service can be used for mapping, emergency services, natural resource management, geosciences and sustainable development. This service ensures users are able to consume topographic map data without the requirement of hosting the map files on their own servers. It is important to note that depictions of roads and tracks do not necessarily indicate a public right of way. Unlawful entry upon private land or a restricted area and/or wilful damage of property such as gates and fences expose offenders to legal prosecution. It is divided into the seven themes of the FSDF and two categories Each of these themes is made up of various Feature Classes (or layers) that contain the relevant spatial data and their associated attributes and relationships. This dataset was captured by utilising the best available source at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m.A program to upgrade the spatial location and accuracy of data is ongoing.Spatial Reference System (dataset)GDA94Spatial Reference System (web service)EPSG:3857WGS84 Equivalent ToGDA94Spatial ExtentFull StateContent LineageFor additional information, please contact us via the Spatial Services Customer HubData ClassificationUnclassifiedData Access PolicyOpenData QualityFor additional information, please contact us via the Spatial Services Customer HubTerms and ConditionsCreative CommonsStandard and Specification Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) implemented and compatible for consumption by common GIS platforms. **Please note this dataset is the most recent version of the Administrative Boundaries (AB). For previous versions of the AB please go to this url: https://data.gov.au/dataset/ds-dga-b4ad5702-ea2b-4f04-833c-d0229bfd689e/details?q=previous** ---------------------------------- Geoscape Administrative Boundaries is Australia’s most comprehensive national collection of boundaries, including government, statistical and electoral boundaries. It is built and maintained by [Geoscape Australia](https://geoscape.com.au/) using authoritative government data. Further information about contributors to Administrative Boundaries is available [here](https://geoscape.com.au/legal/data-copyright-and-disclaimer/). This dataset comprises seven Geoscape products: * Localities * Local Government Areas (LGAs) * Wards * Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Boundaries * Electoral Boundaries * State Boundaries and * Town Points Updated versions of Administrative Boundaries are published on a quarterly basis. Users have the option to download datasets with feature coordinates referencing either GDA94 or GDA2020 datums. **Notable changes in the February 2025 release** * There have been spatial changes (area) greater than 1 km2 to the localities ‘Koombooloomba’, ‘Isisford’, ‘Ilfracombe’ and ‘Glen Ruth’ in Queensland. * There have been spatial changes (area) greater than 1 km2 to the localities ‘Birdwood’ and ‘Forreston’ in South Australia. * Three new wards ‘Central Ward’, ’East Ward’ and ’West Ward’ have been added in Northern Territory. * ‘Anindilyakwa Ward’ has been retired in Northern Territory. **IMPORTANT NOTE: correction of issues with the 22 November 2022 release** * On 28 November 2022, the Administrative Boundaries dataset originally released on 22 November 2022 was amended and re-uploaded after Geoscape identified some issues with the original data for 'Electoral Boundaries'. * As a result of the error, some shapefiles were published in 3D rather than 2D, which may affect some users when importing data into GIS applications. * The error affected the Electoral Boundaries dataset, specifically the Commonwealth boundary data for Victoria and Western Australia, including 'All States'. * Only the ESRI Shapefile formats were affected (both GDA94 and GDA2020). The MapInfo TAB format was not affected. * Because the datasets are zipped into a single file, once the error was fixed by Geoscape all of Administrative Boundaries shapefiles had to be re-uploaded, rather than only the affected files. * If you downloaded either of the two Administrative Boundary ESRI Shapefiles between 22 November and 28 November 2022 and plan to use the Electoral Boundary component, you are advised to download the revised version dated 28 November 2022. Apologies for any inconvenience. Metadata Portal Metadata Information Content TitleNSW Positioning Theme - Survey Mark GDA94Content TypeHosted Feature LayerDescription The NSW Survey Marks web service is a dynamic map of permanent survey marks that constitute the state control survey. The positioning data under the NSW Foundation Spatial Data Framework (FSDF) is fed to the web service by the Survey Control Information Management System (SCIMS), the database that contains the single source of truth for all marks within the state control survey network. This service provides GDA94 coordinates, heights and related information for NSW survey marks that form the official State control survey network (as reported in SCIMS). This service controls the precision of numerical output in a manner that mirrors SCIMS Online available through the Spatial Services Portal. The web service provides a wealth of data on each mark, including:,
