Access API Export Data Indigenous Regions (IREGs) are large geographic areas built from whole Indigenous Areas. Changes to Indigenous Regions are determined through consultation with the Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Statistics based on statistical and community requirements. Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Statistical Geographical Standard Boundaries divides an area of interest throughout the state of NSW on which statistics are collected for purposes under the Census and Statistics Act 1905 (Cth). The ABS Structures are a hierarchy of regions developed for the release of ABS statistical information. The main components are as follows: • Statistical Areas Level 4 • Statistical Areas Level 3 • Statistical Areas Level 2 • Statistical Areas Level 1 • Regional Boundaries.

This dataset is the Australian Drainage Divisions (ADD) boundaries as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS): Volume 3 - Non ABS Structures, July 2016. The ABS encourages the use of the ASGS by other organisations to improve the comparability and usefulness of statistics generally, and in analysis and visualisation of statistical and other data. The Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) brings together in one framework all of the regions which the ABS and many others organisations use to collect, release and analyse geographically classified statistics. The ASGS ensures that these statistics are comparable and geospatially integrated and provides users with an coherent set of standard regions so that they can access, visualise, analyse and understand statistics.

Access API Export Data Indigenous Areas are medium sized geographic areas built from whole Indigenous Locations. They are designed for the release and analysis of more detailed statistics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Changes to Indigenous Areas are determined through consultation with the Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Statistics based on statistical and community requirements. Whole Indigenous Areas aggregate to form Indigenous Regions. Access API Export Data Destination Zones are co-designed with state and territory transport authorities. DZNs are designed from either whole or aggregations of Mesh Blocks (MB) and they align to Statistical Area Level 2 boundaries. They have no relationship to Statistical Area Level 1 boundaries. Destination Zones were incorporated as part of the ASGS for the first time in 2021.
