2014 NSW Population Projections
Data files and papers for the 2014 release of the NSW population projections. These projections are an update of the 2013 preliminary NSW population projections and account for the impact of the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) decision to revise 20 years of historical population estimates for the period 1991-2011. The 2014 projections also consider findings from the 2011 Census and the latest data and expertise on fertility, mortality and migration at the time of release. These projections have since been superseded. The latest release is the 2024 NSW population projections, published in November 2024. The 2024 projections are available at https://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/data-and-insights/population-projections. Official NSW population projections are updated twice in a five-year cycle. The schedule for these updates is linked to the timing of Australia's census.

2013 NSW Population Projections (Preliminary Revision)
공공데이터포털
Data files and papers for the 2013 release of the NSW population projections. The scheduled release of a 2013 set of NSW population projections had to change after the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) announced a major review of its local area population estimates back to 1991. This is because the ABS had introduced improved methodology which is making its data more accurate. Releasing a special set of preliminary projections in 2013 gave users of NSW population information more up-to-date data to inform decision making while a full review was finalised. The finalised set of NSW population projections was released in 2014. These projections have since been superseded. The latest release (at November 2025) is the 2024 NSW population projections, published in November 2024. 2022 NSW Population Projection at 2041
공공데이터포털
Export DataAccess APIThe NSW population projections are a scenario based on available evidence. They are not a target or a representation of Government intent. They represent possible demographic futures based on the best assessment of how the NSW population may change over time, including population size, age profile and residential location. The projections reflect current planning frameworks and strategies in place, and the potential demographic outcomes of contemporary decisions. They represent a basis from which to plan from.Population projections provide a picture of the population as it may develop in the future. They indicate an area’s likely population size, and its age and sex profile. Understanding these changes is essential to making informed planning decisions for the State’s future. These projections are used as a common framework across NSW Government. They inform planning policy decisions around infrastructure and service delivery such as the provision of hospital beds, school classrooms, roads and public transport. Future decisions, such as infrastructure investments and land use plans, will change future population patterns including growth and distribution. These projections do not change the current visions set out in Regional Plans or affect local plans and strategies such as Local Council’s Local Strategic Planning Statements and Local Housing Strategies.MetadataContent Title2022 NSW Population Projection at 2041Content TypeOtherDescriptionNSW population, household and implied dwelling projections are produced by the Department of Planning and Environment on behalf of the NSW Government. NSW DPIE - Projections 2016 - Population Summary (LGA) 2011-2036
공공데이터포털
This dataset presents a summary of the projected population for 5-year periods between the years of 2011 and 2036 for the state of New South Wales (NSW). The data is presented as aggregations following the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) 2016 Local Government Areas (LGA). Population projections provide a picture of the population as it may develop in future years. They provide an indication of the size and age-sex structure of the future population if specified assumptions about future fertility, mortality and migration are realised. Population projections are not forecasts and do not attempt to predict the impact that future government policies, changing economic circumstances or other factors (whether in Australia or overseas) might have on demographic behaviour. For more information please read the Population Projections User Guide. Please note: AURIN has spatially enabled the original data. Population numbers are rounded to the nearest 50. They should not be taken to be accurate to that level of detail.
