Data Notes: Based on school of tuition, NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) developed courses only, and includes subjects studied through distance education, the NSW School of Languages and Aurora College. Data derived from NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Life Skills courses are a commitment to extend the curriculum and reporting arrangements that were established for the School Certificate to HSC students with special education needs. Each Life Skills course comprises a 2 Unit Preliminary course and a 2 Unit HSC course. There are no external examinations for Life Skills courses. In 2023, the Total columns include non-binary students. These students are unable to be reported separately due to system limitations. Data Source: Schools and Students: Statistical Bulletin. In 2012, the School Certificate was discontinued and replaced by the Record of School Achievement (RSA). The RSA is a record of a student’s achievements from Year 10 until they leave school. Data Notes: Data shows the number of Year 10 students in NSW government schools that completed the mandatory courses for an RSA. However, some courses may have been completed when the students were in Year 7, 8 or 9. Students need to complete the mandatory requirements for Stage 5 (Year 10) to be eligible for a RSA. The National Assessment of Educational Progress, 2012 (NAEP 2012), is a study that is part of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) program; program data is available since 1990 at https://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/naepdata/. NAEP 2012 (https://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/) is a cross-sectional survey that assesses what America's students know and can do in economics. Students in grade 12 were sampled. NAEP 2012 assessments consist of national assessment in economics. Key statistics produced from NAEP 2012 are results on subject-matter achievement, instructional experiences, and school environment for populations of students (e.g., all fourth-graders) and groups within those populations (e.g. female students, Hispanic students).

NAEP 2012 LTT (https://nces.ed.gov/nationsreportcard/ltt) is a cross-sectional survey that assesses what America's students know and can do in reading and mathematics. NAEP 2012 Long-Term Trend assessment was administered to students aged 9, 13, and 17 who were enrolled in public and non-public elementary and secondary schools throughout the nation.
