Sharps disposal bins
Community sharps are needles, syringes and lancets that are used to administer medications and drugs outside a clinical setting. We need to dispose of sharps safely to prevent needlestick injury in our public places, at home and for workers who remove waste or clean facilities. Sharps are to be treated as clinical waste, like they would be in a hospital. Use our map to find a safe disposal location or call the Needle Clean-Up Hotline to report used syringes in public places on 1800 633 353. View the interactive map More information on sharps bins

Ashtrays
공공데이터포털
Dumping a cigarette butt attracts heavy fines, particularly if the cigarette is lit. Smokers can instead carry a portable ashtray, use ashtrays on street litter bins or wall-mounted ashtrays outside shops and offices. Make sure your cigarette is stubbed out before you put it in an ashtray or bin. Personal ashtrays are available free from our customer service centres View the interactive map More information on smoking in public places

If you live in a house or an apartment in our area you need to put your bins out on the correct day. Search this map to find the bin collection day. Collections for both rubbish (red lid) and recycling bins (yellow lid) occur weekly or sometimes several times a week for larger and high-rise apartment buildings. We'll collect your garden organics (green lid) bin every second week on the same day as your red lid and yellow lid bin. Bins are emptied any time from 6am to 6pm on the collection day.
