NSW Heritage Register (SHR) Centroids 12/03/2015
This dataset is a work in progress and contains the identified centres or centroids of items listed on the State Heritage Register of NSW. Every item has a centroid which identifies its approximate location and is particularly useful when a curtilage or boundary has not yet been defined. When a listing on the State Heritage Register applies to a place, building, work, relic, moveable object, precinct, or land, a person must not do any of the following things without appropriate approvals: (a) demolish the building or work, (b) damage or despoil the place, precinct or land, or any part of the place, precinct or land, (c) move, damage or destroy the relic or moveable object, (d) excavate any land for the purpose of exposing or moving the relic, (e) carry out any development in relation to the land on which the building, work or relic is situated, the land that comprises the place, or land within the precinct, (f) alter the building, work, relic or moveable object, (g) display any notice or advertisement on the place, building, work, relic, moveable object or land, or in the precinct, (h) damage or destroy any tree or other vegetation on or remove any tree or other vegetation from the place, precinct or land.

This dataset provides the NSW Department of Education’s Heritage Conservation Register, in accordance with s170 of the NSW Heritage Act 1977. Places inscribed on this register are of Local or State heritage significance. Data is current as at 25 May 2025. Data notes: · Many of the state's heritage items are owned or managed by NSW Government agencies. · Under Section 170 of the NSW Heritage Act 1977, all state government agencies must keep and administer a database of heritage assets called a Section 170 Heritage and Conservation Register. This register serves as an essential tool for making decisions about maintaining, conserving and making changes to heritage assets. • The department’s Section 170 Heritage and Conservation Register complies with the requirements outlined in the Heritage Regulation 2012 (401). It is co-hosted on the Heritage Management System managed by Heritage NSW. • This register is constantly being updated, and enquiries should be made to ascertain amended information. • Further details about individual heritage listed places can also be found on the State Heritage Inventory on the Heritage NSW website, which has a searchable database. ** Data source:** Heritage, Planning and Assessments, Operations Group, SINSW, Department of Education.
