The statewide koala baseline survey is a standalone snapshot of the occurrence, distribution and relative abundance of koalas in NSW in 2025. The baseline survey covers the plausible range of koalas in NSW and over 1,000 sites were sampled across land tenures using heat-sensing drones and passive acoustic recorders. The survey also provides a baseline population estimate from which to evaluate koala population trends over time. This dataset comprises point data of koala abundance derived from night time, thermal drone survey.

Lists a summary of the koala Phascolarctos cinereus records approved for public release from the WildNet database. Exported from the WildNet database weekly (Saturdays). Koala records can also be viewed via the Biomaps application. Updates can be generated using the Get surveys by species function of the Qld wildlife data API. This record contains information on surveys of koala activity for 33 one-hectare plots in Karawatha Forest Park during the period October 2009 to January 2010. The data set contains Koala presence/absence from individual trees in the study plots.In addition, information on tree species identification, stem diameter at breast height for each individual, distance of tree from transect and Koala activity level have been documented.

Seven case study locations (Keep, Daly, Roper, McArthur, Flinders, and Gilbert River estuaries, and Darwin Harbour) were used to test the utility of the Australian Landsat data archive in the Digital Earth Australia analysis platform for characterising and monitoring the condition and change in coastal habitats. A suite of analyses was undertaken including: assessing the extent of different coastal habitats, detecting coastal change including change in mangrove communities, and the distribution of intertidal areas. The work was successful in: (a) generating baseline information for the case study areas; and, (b) developing valuable monitoring tools for future use.
