Environmental Impact Statement: Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 notice to applicant of determination of a development application

This SEPP contains planning provisions which: identify State or regionally significant development, State significant Infrastructure, and critical State significant infrastructure provide for consideration of development delivery plans by local Aboriginal land councils in planning assessment allow the Planning Secretary to elect to be the concurrence authority for certain development that requires concurrence under nominated State environmental planning policies.  This SEPP has consolidated and repealed the: SEPP (State and Regional Development) 2011 SEPP (Aboriginal Land) 2019 SEPP (Concurrences and Consents) 2018

The Housing SEPP has made the planning system simpler by consolidating 5 former housing-related policies: State Environmental Planning Policy (Affordable Rental Housing) 2009 (ARHSEPP) State Environmental Planning Policy (Housing for Seniors and People with a Disability) 2004 (Seniors SEPP) State Environmental Planning Policy No 70 - Affordable Housing (Revised Schemes) (SEPP 70) State Environmental Planning Policy No 21 - Caravan Parks State Environmental Planning Policy No 36 - Manufactured Home Estates Introducing two new housing types to meet changing needs: Co-living housing Independent living units Improving the way existing types of homes are delivered including: Boarding houses Build-to-rent housing Seniors housing Including the planning rules for: Caravan parks and manufactured home estates Group homes Retention of existing affordable rental housing Secondary dwellings (sometimes known as granny flats) Social and affordable housing Short term rental accommodation (sometimes known as STRA)

This is a repealed State Environmental Planning Policy and has been superseded by the State Environmental Planning Policy (Precincts – Central River City) 2021 as part of the Department's initiative to consolidate State Environmental Planning Policies to simplify and provide certainty to the planning system. This SEPP contains planning provisions: for land use planning within the coastal zone, in a manner consistent with the objects of the Coastal Management Act 2016 to manage hazardous and offensive development which provides a state-wide planning framework for the remediation of contaminated land and to minimise the risk of harm. This SEPP has consolidated and repealed the: SEPP (Coastal Management) 2018 SEPP 33 – Hazardous and Offensive Development SEPP 55 – Remediation of Land (SEPP 55)
