Preliminary report on the ABC uranium prospect, Katherine area, Northern Territory
In the course of geological investigation of the area included in the Katherine, Mt. Todd and Lewin Springs 1-miles sheets, carried out by J.H. Rattigan and A.B. Clark, Bureau of Mineral Resources, A.B. Clark found, in September 1953, uranium mineralization subsequently known as the A.B.C. Prospect, 11 miles north-north-east of the township of Katherine. This report is a record of the detailed investigation which followed the discovery.

Radioactive surveys, Katherine - Darwin region: annual report for 1953
공공데이터포털
As a result of the field activities of the Bureau during 1953 regional geological maps have been prepared for the Rum Jungle district, the Katherine-Edith River district and the Coronation Hill-Goodparla district, which cover the Katherine, Lewin Springs and Mt. Todd 1 mile military sheets and portions of the Marrakai, Mt. Tolmer, Batchelor, Tumbling Waters, Goodparla North, Goodparla South and Mt. Evelyn sheets. Detailed geological and geophysical reports and plans have also been prepared for all known radioactive mineral prospects, costeaning and diamond drilling has been undertaken to test some of the prospects and inspectional reports have been made on practically all airborne scintillometer anomalies located during surveys in 1952, and on some of those found during 1953. Prospecting operations have also been undertaken. A summary of the activities of the Bureau during 1953 and the results achieved is given in the following pages, and further details can be obtained from reports mentioned in the list of references.
Report on inspection of portion of proposed authority to prospect No. 151 (Sleisbeck), Northern Territory
공공데이터포털
The following report concerns the geology and mineralization of two uranium prospects in the Gimbat - Snake Creek Area of the Northern Territory. One of these prospects, referred to as Sleisbeck, can be recognised as one of the most favourable yet discovered in the Northern Territory. The radioactivity occurs in a quartzite breccia outcropping over a length of 1.5 miles and with a width of as much as several hundred feet. Geiger counter readings of 2 - 100 times background, occur frequently along the entire length of the outcrop, visible mineralization being present at three separate localities. The state of this mineralization, its associations and the geological settings are favourable to the possible occurrence of uranium mineralization at depth. Recommendations are made for further work, and problems in regional geology are discussed. The writer considers the sections of this report designated "Mineralization" and "Conclusions" to be the most important for a knowledge of the actual uranium occurrences. The remaining information is mainly geological, and, while highly pertinent, may not be of urgent interest to readers with a limited amount of time.
Preliminary geophysical report on the Coronation Hill uranium prospect, Katherine - Darwin area, Northern Territory
공공데이터포털
This report deals with the application of geophysical methods (other than radiometric) to the Coronation Hill Radioactive Deposit. Results of radiometric gridding of the surface and costeans, field sludge assays, and radiometric drill hole logging are not treated as these are included in entirety in R.B. Allen's report "The Coronation Hill Uranium Prospect," Bureau of Mineral Resources Record 1954/17. Structural indications from magnetic evidence are discussed. These comprise several faults, or zones of weakness, one of which may coincide with the axis of the surface radio-activity. Several interesting magnetic features for which no cause can be proposed are also noted. The highly uncertain nature of the deductions made is emphasised. The method of approach to geophysical applications at Coronation Hill is detailed, and recommendations are made for possible future work.

Radioactive surveys, Katherine - Darwin area, Northern Territory: report for quarter ending 30th June, 1954
공공데이터포털
The Radioactive Section of the Bureau of Mineral Resources expanded its operations in the Katherine-Darwin Area during this quarter. The staff working in the area has been considerably increased, but more geophysicists are required. Regional geological mapping has commenced for the season and has disclosed one prospect showing radioactivity in the Burrundie district. Detailed geological mapping and radiometric gridding is being done at Burrundie, Brock's Creek, A.B.C. and Adelaide River Prospects.
Radioactive surveys, Katherine - Darwin area, Northern Territory: report for quarter ending 31st March, 1954
공공데이터포털
Operations of the Radioactive Section have been restricted during this quarter due to the "wet" season and lack of staff. Drilling operations at the Ella Creek Prospect were completed and operations commenced at the Edith River Prospect. No encouraging results were disclosed at either prospect. Other work has been limited to inspection of reported new discoveries and geophysical work in the Rum Jungle area.
