PROV Recordkeeping Standards Framework Documents Issued 21-22
Section 12 of the Public Records Act 1973 (Vic) requires the Keeper of Public Records to establish standards for the efficient management of public records and assist public offices in the application of those standards to records under their control. The Act requires public offices to implement records management programs in accordance with the standards established by the Keeper. This standard establishes requirements for the physical storage of State records. The standard covers all types of storage media (for example, paper, tapes, disks) but excludes the storage of electronic records on networks or on hard drives.
No. 11 Standard on the physical storage of State records
