Recreational Fish Habitat
Scientific review and dataset on developing a criteria for identifying key fish habitat locations and focussed on major Victorian bays and inlets (Port Philip Bay, Western Port, Corner Inlet and Gippsland Lakes). The recreational marine fish species habitat in the dataset are King george whiting, snapper, sand flathead, calamari, black bream and gummy shark. Commissioned by the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) and later digitised by DELWP, the consultancy report was produced by the University of Melbourne. Kalu. Dataset shows popular recreational fishing spots in the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay. Fishing areas were derived from the publication "Anglers' Guide to the United States Atlantic Coast, Fish, Fishing Grounds & Fishing Facilities"and from personal communication with Keith Lockwood, MDNR, Fisheries Service in 2000.
Habitats and Biodiversity Assessment, Western Flank, Oceanic Shoals MPA, 2017, Western Australia (ConocoPhillips)
Towed Video transects + Digital StillsStereo BRUVSMultibeamCTD This biological survey will provide targeted benthic habitat and fish biodiversity information for six key areas associated with a) potential pipeline routes b) potential sensitive receptor habitats outside the Oceanic Shoals Commonwealth Marine Protected Area c) potential sensitive receptor habitats within the Oceanic Shoals Commonwealth Marine Protected Area. The biological survey will use standardised methods so that data collected can be referenced to, and compared with, other survey data collected on this shelf by AIMS, ConocoPhillips and Geoscience Australia.
Fish Inventory at Cape Hatteras National Seashore in 2003 - Open Format Dataset
The Southeast Coast Network is comprised of 20 parks within the states of North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, all of which are responsible for a large percentage of the fish diversity in the United States. Collectively, these parks would be expected to harbor a high diversity of fishes due to the wide range of habitats represented. At the time of the present study (2001-2005), many basic species inventories for fishes were lacking for many of the parks in the network. The purpose of the study was to sample fishes in 12 parks to supplement existing data or to provide preliminary records of fishes where no records existed. From these data an expected list of fishes for all parks was generated. In 2023, the data was then processed for dissemination by the Inventory and Monitoring Division (IMD), complying with Executive Order 13642, Making Open and Machine Readable the New Default for Government Information (GPO 2013). Processed tabular datasets have been created using the data provided from the parks, following Darwin Core naming standards and introducing data quality flagging where data was missing or unclear.
