This product is the Recreational Fishing Regions of Western Australia dataset. This datatset outlines recreational fishing regions used for monitoring, assessments and management of Western Australia’s recreational fisheries and aquatic resources in accordance with ecosystem-based fisheries management and Western Australia Fisheries Resource Harvest Strategies.

The regional planning area boundaries dataset shows the regional plan boundaries as determined by the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning. These are gazetted administrative boundaries only

Hydrological zones are a broad spatial framework grouping areas with similar hydrology. They are used to report on dryland salinity and acidification of inland waterways in the ‘Report card on sustainable natural resource use in agriculture – status and trend in the agricultural areas of the south-west of Western Australia (2013)’. Zone boundaries are derived from hydrological attributes associated with the best available soil-landscape mapping, Version 5.01.

Interpolated contours lines at 2 metre intervals produced by DPIRD (formerly DAFWA) from the Land Monitor project (1998-2000) DEM based on a 10 metre grid. This data set does not cover the entire south west region - see the coverage map in the metadata for the full area.

This spatial boundary supports the marine bioregional boundaries as described in the State of the Fisheries Reports, that follows those of the Interim Marine and Coastal Regionalisation for Australia report (IMCRA Technical Group) except for the inclusion of the Gascoyne coast as a separate region.

Submissions assist the WAPC in reviewing planning proposals before proceeding. Advertised proposals are often modified in response to the public submission process.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is an Australian Government initiative that brings together all levels of government to enhance the growth and development of Australia-C/s regions. national network of RDA committees has been established to achieve this objective. RD Regions are created and maintained by the Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport to support this initiative. #### Notes The RD Regions (2011) were built from the ABS LG 2011 boundary dataset. There was also an amalgamation between the City of Geraldton-Greenough and Shire of Mullewa on the 1st of July 2011A to formA the City of Greater Geraldton.A The LG code for Geraldton-Greenough (53520) was retained for the new City of Greater Geraldton.

Land conservation district committees (LCDCs) are statutory committees appointed by the Commissioner of Soil and Land Conservation to administer Land Conservation Districts in accordance with an Order proclaimed by the Governor. Their main function is to promote sustainable land management and undertake projects. LCDCs may be active, abolished or in-recess. The associated spreadsheet indicates the status of each district.

Mareeba Shire reformed from Tablelands Regional, Douglas Shire reformed from Cairns Regional, Livingstone Shire from Rockhampton Regional and Noosa Shire from Sunshine Coast Regional. LGA boundaries had minor adjustments from the 2007 boundaries, but there were no changes to the RDA boundaries.

The Natural Resource Management (NRM) Regions dataset has been prepared for the purpose of reporting on the Australian Government's Caring for our Country investments. The dataset is designed to cover all Australian territory where Caring for our Country projects might take place and includes major islands; external territories; state and coastal waters; in addition to the 56 NRM regions. This version of the data is an update and formalisation of the 'interim 2010' dataset (which was an interim update of the NRM Regions 2009 dataset- publicly released in Feb 09).Whilst the boundaries of NRM Regions are defined by legislation in some states and territories this dataset should not be used to represent legal boundaries in any way. It is an administrative dataset developed for the purpose of reporting and public information. It should be noted that from time to time the states and/or territories may revise their regional boundaries in accordance with local needs and therefore alterations to either the attribution or boundaries of the data may occur in the future.Caring for our Country commenced on 1 July 2008.
