RV Investigator Voyage IN2014 E04 End of Voyage (EOV) Archive
This record describes the End of Voyage archive from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2014_E04: Moorings equipment - testing and procedure development. This is a trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart on the 26th November and returning to Hobart on the 28th November 2014. The overall voyage objectives were to safely develop optimal procedures for servicing deep ocean moorings from RV Investigator including three IMOS Southern Ocean Time Series Moorings. Data collected included Underway (UWY), Gravity, Atmospheric data (Radon), Multibeam (EM122, EM710). These datasets are test only and not for processing and distribution. The archive for the IN2014_E04 EOV data will be held temporarily within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Data Centre in Hobart. The EOV data collected and voyage documentation will be available to the O&A voyage participants via internal network. EOV paper documentation will be referenced in TRIM under "IN2014_E04", Record Number: C2014/10303. GSM data (Gravity and ME70) added to archive 13/01/2015. File transfers checked and EndOfVoyageChecklist.pdf in global_docs updated. Last manifest file created in2014_e04_manifest_rawVoyage_gsm_added_1.0.txt 28/07/2015. A permanent archive of the EOV data will be located at the CSIRO Data Access Portal (DAP).

This record describes the End of Voyage archive from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator Event voyage IN2014_E02. Scientific Sea Trials and Acceptance tests. This voyage performed sea trials for the RV Investigator with two legs, both from Hobart to Hobart with Leg 1 between 28th of October to the 1st November and Leg 2 from the 1st November to the 6th November. Operations include for leg 1, VSAT, trawl winch testing, towed body testing, heavy duty winch deployments, hydrographic winch testing, Triaxus - installation, testing and calibration (deployment to 300m), radon detection monitoring, gravity meter calibration and testing, Kongsberg- installation, testing and survey work (EM122 & EM710). For leg 2 Coring - long and short systems - one shallow and one deep site. Weather Radar installation and testing.Hydrographic winch - sediment grab and light towing.Kongsberg - installation, testing & survey work (EM122 & EM710 & SBP). Trawling - Pelagic and demersal -Simrad ITI net monitoring system. On both legs SST radiometer monitoring. Low priority - Run all laboratory sea water systems to check volumes, flow rates and drainage. Opportunistic list of sign off SFR items. Drop keel down to gondola level for Kongsberg testing. Shallow and deep water tests 50m - 4000m (depth at least 4,000m to test winches and corer). Collection of data was opportunistic. Some data was collected for underway, atmospheric, multibeam, gravity and XBT. These data are test only not for processing and distribution. The archive for the IN2014_E02 EOV data will be held temporarily within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Data Centre in Hobart. The EOV data collected and voyage documentation will be available to the O&A voyage participants via internal network. This record describes the End of Voyage archive from the Marine National Facility RV Investigator voyage IN2014_E03: Physical and biological oceanography of the shelf break off Maria Island; And exploration for frontal eddies. This trial voyage departed Hobart on the 11th November and returned to Hobart on the 17th November 2014. Data collected includes Underway (UWY), CTD, Gravity, SST Radiometer, Atmospheric data (Radon), Echosounders (12, 18, 38, 70, 120, 200, 333, Bridge 200 KHz), Multibeam (EM122, EM710 and SBP120) and XBT (deck test only), TRIAXUS, EZnet and Bongo net (un-instrumented). Echosounder data was not captured. The EOV paper documentation - Multibeam: EM122 - EM710 and ME70 and SBP120, Gravity Meter, CTD and XBT logs is archived c/o the Data Centre in Hobart and entered in the records management system TRIM, reference "in2014_e03". The paper documentation is scanned and accessible via the local network. Entries from the Triaxus log book have also been scanned and saved to pdf. Whilst systems were being established for a permanent archive at the CSIRO DAP, an LTO tape archive was created on 1/12/2014 and stored at Hobart Marine Labs, IDC Storeroom, Filing Cabinet 1 Drawer-2, Archive Box-7A. Gravity data was added to electronic archive 31/3/2015 and a new manifest file created and EndOfVoyageChecklist.pdf updated. The EOV data collected will be available to the O&A voyage participants via internal network. The archive for the in2014_e03 EOV data will be held temporarily within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Data Centre in Hobart with a permanent archive to be located at the CSIRO Data Access Portal (DAP).

This was a trial voyage for the RV Investigator departing Hobart (TAS) on April 7th and returning to Hobart on April 14th, 2015. The archive for the IN2015_E02 EOV data will be held temporarily within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Data Centre in Hobart, with a permanent archive to be located at the CSIRO Data Access Portal (DAP, https://data.csiro.au/dap/). EOV paper documentation: Multibeam (EM122, ME70, EM710, SBP120) and XBT logs WERE archived c/o the Data Centre in Hobart and the location entered in the archiving system TRIM, reference "in2015_e02 Paper Documentation." This record describes the End of Voyage archive from the Marine National Facility, RV Investigator delivery voyage IN2014_E01. The voyage took place between the 24th August and the 9th of September, 2014 from Singapore to Hobart. The data collected on this voyage was minimal as the aim was to deliver the vessel to Hobart from Singapore and not for data collection. Electronics, Data Acquisition Processing (DAP) and Geophysical Survey and Mapping (GSM) personnel undertook setup, testing and familiarisation of systems and equipment during the delivery voyage. EOV data was not collected on in2014_e01. Bridge logs were provided electronically as photo images. Bridge logs, paper logs and Voyage reports are available to voyage participants and MNF support personnel via the global_docs archive or email DataLibrariansOAMNF@csiro.au. EOV paper documentation is referenced in TRIM under "IN2014_E01 Paper documents", Record Number: C2015/1191, held in the IDC Data centre Store room 5SS54.
