This dataset comprises all basement boreholes drilled in outcropping bedrock areas which have been used for the control of Free Air (FA) gravity data interpolated to each outcrop location. These boreholes have been used to provide better control for analysing FA gravity data. The dataset was compiled by GHD to inform the report 'Potential Influences of Geological Structures on Groundwater Flow Systems' for DEPI's Secure Allocation Future Entitlements (SAFE) Project.

This dataset comprises boreholes used as an input to bore controlled residual gravity to map bedrock depth, basement structure and as indicator of basal aquifer thickness variation in Victoria. These boreholes have been used to give better control for analysing Free Air (FA) gravity data. Aquifer Salinity - Basal

This dataset contains groundwater salinity information for boreholes which had terminated at least 5m and no more than 50m above bedrock. The bores have been extracted predominantly from the Groundwater Management System (GMS) and the State Observation Bore Network (SOBN). It should be noted that the analysis undertaken with the salinity data was only of a preliminary nature and should be treated with a critical approach. Local validation of the data (e.g. screen depths) needs to be undertaken in detail. The dataset was compiled by GHD to inform the report 'Potential Influences of Geological Structures on Groundwater Flow Systems' for DEPI's Secure Allocation Future Entitlements (SAFE) Project.

This dataset contains information for boreholes that record groundwater chloride concentration levels sourced from the Victorian Groundwater Management System (GMS). It could be used in conjuction with the chloride deposition in rainfall dataset (developed by the CSIRO) to undertake a mass balance analysis to derive groundwater recharge.

Lineaments interpreted from Gravity Data

This dataset comprises lineaments interpreted from 250m gridded gravity data. The data is presented as Bouguer gravity using an industry standard reduction (continental crust) density of 2.67 T/m3 for the density of bedrock . Analysis has focussed on interpreting structural trends not addressed closely by the work completed by the former Department of Primary Industries (DPI) - specifically NNE-SSW, ENE-WSW and WNW-ESE trends. The dataset is a subset of Minerals and Petroleum's BORES dataset and contains geological data from Minerals and Petroleum's boreholes RDBMS. The dataset contains any borehole records which have lithological, stratigraphic or assay data as well as any borehole records where the purpose was recorded as being minerals-related.
