Director Nature - Swan Coastal Plain and Perth-Peel Native Vegetation Extent 2020 (DWER-140)
Remnant vegetation mapping for the Swan Coastal Plain bioregion, Metropolitan and Peel Region Scheme areas in 2020. Part of a suite of polygon datasets that best represent remnants of original pre-1750 vegetation across the mapped areas as at 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 and 2024. The polygons represent interpreted areas of vegetation using current and historical digital aerial photography (1953-present) sourced from State Government repositories and other commercial products e.g. Digital globe, ESRI wayback imagery and Google. Simplified condition of the vegetation has been attributed to some polygons. The mapped area covers the Metropolitan and Peel Region Schemes, the Swan Coastal Plain bioregion as defined in the Interim Biogeographic Regionalisation of Australia V 7.1 (Commonwealth of Australia, 2025) and the Swan Coastal Plain vegetation complexes (DBCA-046) (Department of Parks and Wildlife, 2016). Western Australian Local Government Association - 2020 vegetation extent by vegetation complexes
공공데이터포털
This dataset categorises the 2020 native vegetation extent mapping by vegetation complexes for the Swan Coastal Plain and the South West Forest Region of Western Australia.
Grasslands of South East Australian Coastal Headlands 2018. VIS ID 5134.
공공데이터포털
This polygon dataset contains areas of maritime grasslands identified by satellite imagery and ground truthing in 2018. This mapping was produced by Dr. John T. Hunter as part of a self-led project to produce hierarchical classification of grasslands on coastal headlands of New South Wales in eastern Australia. Original mapping was based on 50cm and 1m resolution satellite imagery and later ground truth. Not all grassland sites were visited for ground truth. Regarding the presence of Themeda triandra, Hunter stated in email correspondence that "there are patches down to Bega that are Themeda dominant but they are not whole headlands. As you move north the headlands are almost entirely Themeda (except Little Broughton Island which is Poa dominated like most of those in the south)." In mapped grasslands not dominated by Themeda, "other grassland types, particularly Poa, Microlaena, Cynodon may be the more common type". Areas not found to be Themeda dominated were also noted by Hunter to be rare and worthy of legislative protection. Further information on the methodology and the survey's findings can be found in the paper "Grasslands on Coastal Headlands in New South Wales, south eastern Australia" included in the resources. For internal users paper is stored in: P:\Corporate\Products\Vegetation\VegClassification\GrasslandsCoastalHeadlands NB. Because this vegetation layer contains a Threatened Ecological Community (Themeda Grassland) an additional layer file sits under P:\Corporate\Layers\Biodiversity\EcologicalCommunities for discoverability. Janine Kinloch - South West Vegetation Complex Statistics
공공데이터포털
This annual report provides up-to-date statistics on the pre-European and current extent of the vegetation complexes of the south-west of Western Australia. The mapping does not extend to IBRA sub-region boundaries so it does not report by IBRA sub-region rather by the extent of the available mapping of the complex. The report also includes (1) statistics to assess the status of the CAR reserve system for a portion of the South West Region; (2) Region Scheme reports; (3) LGA Reports. This analysis is based on the Vegetation Complex mapping of the Swan Coastal Plain and South West Forests. This annual reporting was initiated in 2016 after the two vegetation complex mapping datasets were updated. The reports contains both external reports and the internal (DBCA and DWER) sub-reports. See the README worksheet in each excel file for more details. People external to DBCA can download the external version from DataWA at this link https://catalogue.data.wa.gov.au/dataset/dbca Note: to access the data, select the data source link located on the right-hand side.
Western Australian Local Government Association - 2020 vegetation extent by administrative planning categories
공공데이터포털
This dataset categorises the 2020 native vegetation extent mapping by administrative categories relevant to local biodiversity conservation planning. It identifies ‘Local Natural Areas’, various categories of Parks and Wildlife Service managed lands, Regional Parks and Bush Forever. ‘Local Natural Areas’ are the focus of Local Biodiversity Strategies prepared in accordance of the Local Government Biodiversity Planning Guidelines (del Marco et al 2004).
