LIST Authority Land is a subset of the LIST Cadastral Parcels layer. It portrays parcels of land owned, vested or managed by a Commonwealth, State or Local Government Authority or Government Business Enterprise. Categories include Housing Tasmania, Hydro Tasmania, Councils, Education, Forestry Tasmania, TAS Water, Defense etc. Authority Land attributes are the same as for LIST Cadastral parcels and include the authority name, title reference and property identifier (PID).

An area depicting ownership parcels of the surface estate. Each surface ownership parcel is tied to a particular legal transaction. The same individual or organization may currently own many parcels that may or may not have been acquired through the same legal transaction. Therefore, they are captured as separate entities rather than merged together. This is in contrast to Basic Ownership, in which the surface ownership parcels having the same owner are merged together. Basic Ownership provides the general user with the Forest Service versus non-Forest Service view of land ownership within National Forest boundaries. This layer contains the boundaries and IDs of the Maryland tax maps produced by Maryland Department of Planning. Tax maps, also known as assessment maps, property maps or parcel maps, are a graphic representation of real property showing and defining individual property boundaries in relationship to contiguous real property.
