Victorian Water Measurement Information System
The Victorian Water Measurement Information System is the primary access point to search, discover, access and download surface water and groundwater monitoring data collected by DELWP and its partners. The site gives access to both raw and summary data on water quality and quantity throughout Victoria, and is a central repository for published documents produced from this data. Data currently being collated includes information on groundwater management areas, streamflow management plan boundaries, water supply protection areas and sustainable diversion limit catchments. Some of these data layers will be downloadable, either as a shapefile for input into a GIS or as an excel file for analysis.

River discharge into the Gippsland Lakes

River discharge data from 19 gauging stations were extracted from the Victorian Water Resources Data Warehouse. The extracted data has been compiled and processed to give concurrent observed flows, in hourly time step at the outlets of all the six major rivers associated with the Gippsland Lakes system. Continuous discharge data is provided for the outlets of the eastern (Tambo, Nicholson, Mitchell) and western rivers (Avon, Thomson/Macalister, Latrobe) from 1974 and 1977, respectively through to December 2000. The data was produced for use in the calibration of the Gippsland Lakes Flood Level Modelling Project (GLFLMP), and to re-construct historical water levels in the Gippsland Lakes. The processed hourly river discharge data for the six major rivers used in the GLFLMP are available as text files.

IMOS SOOP Sea Surface Temperature Data collected on the Merchant Vessel Portland

This dataset contains Sea Surface Temperature (SST) underway observations collected on trips of a merchant vessel (MV Portland - VNAH ) between Fremantle (Western Australia) and Melbourne (Victoria). The data have been quality controlled by the Bureau of Meteorology. Enhancement of Measurements on Ships of Opportunity (SOOP)-Sea Surface Temperature (SST) aims to supply near real-time SST data (within 24 hours) from SOOPs and research vessels in the Australian region.
