Main Roads WA - Rail Crossings 2017
This layer shows the location of railway crossings for the freight or passenger rail network in Western Australia. Rail transport is a means of conveyance of passengers & goods by way of wheeled vehicles running on rail tracks. In contrast to road transport, where vehicles merely run on a prepared surface, rail vehicles are also directionally guided by the tracks on which they run. The State Road Network are attributed with a road number as identified in Main Roads' corporate Integrated Road Information System (IRIS). The purpose of this layer is to identify state roads as identified in IRIS. This data presents the road network in Western Australia as of August 2018.
