This notice replaces Notice to Importers Serial No. 791 dated August 9, 2011, and is updated to clarify access related to the covered goods under certain free-trade agreements and to distinguish the over access/within access classification from the applicable rate of duty for certain retail form products. Additionally, the references to Supplementary Feed Grain Imports and the Canadian Wheat Board Act have been removed. The purpose of this Notice is to inform importers of the rules and procedures governing the administration of the tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for wheat, barley and their products.

2.1 The purpose of this Notice is to advise importers that the wheat products tariff rate quota (TRQ) will be filled on October 26, 2012. Consequently, October 26 , 2012 (at 11:59 p.m.) will be the cut-off date for accounting for imports of all wheat products classified under a “within access commitment” tariff item number. 2.2 All subsequent imports of wheat products accounted for after the cut-off date must be classified at the “over access commitment” tariff item number, even if they are imported, or imported and released, before the quota is filled.

This message pertains to imports of barley products classified under Customs Tariff headings: 11.02, 11.03, 11.04, 11.07, 11.08, 19.01, 19.04 and 23.02. Further to our message dated 2021-11-23, by which the close date initially announced for 2021-11-22 was extended by means of exceptional shipment-specific permits for the reason explained therein, the purpose of this message is to inform you that the 2021-2022 Barley Products Tariff Rate Quota will be filled as of 11:59 pm local time on 2022-01-06. Applications for shipment-specific permits, other than those under a supplemental authorization, will no longer be accepted after that time.
