The Biodiversity Science Database is a compilation of fish community data from DFO Science Surveys. Data includes: sampling site, date, fish counts, fish species, and associated habitat information.

This historic dataset delineates valley segments based on a number of different natural features. The data applies to valley segments on the Ontario side of the Great Lakes. ALIS has also been incorporated into the [Aquatic Ecosystem Classification: Great Lakes Basin and Wetlands Data Class](/dataset/aquatic-ecosystems-in-the-great-lakes-basin) and the Great Lakes Conservation Blueprint for Aquatic Biodiversity datasets. *[ALIS]: Aquatic Landscape Inventory System We are no longer updating this data. It is best suited for historical research and analysis.

This dataset is used is used to determine the significance or status of wetland classes and certain other natural heritage features. It is also used to set targets for Wilderness Class Provincial parks, State of the Forest reporting and to study natural disturbance regimes.

This data package comprises discrete data collected for the Mojave Desert Network Inventory and Monitoring Program Streams and Lakes protocol. This protocol is designed to monitor the hydrologic and ecosystem health of nine streams and six subalpine lakes in Great Basin National Park and to identify and assess the effects of stressors such as climate change, groundwater withdrawal, and atmospheric nutrient deposition. Collected data include lake surface elevations, water quality measurements, stream channel characteristics, water chemistry samples, and benthic macroinvertebrate samples. Lake surface elevations, water quality measurements, and stream channel characteristics data covers 2009 to 2023. Water chemistry sample data covers 2009 to 2022. Benthic macroinvertebrate sample data are published in a separate data package.

This dataset was created to: * better understand the state of the shoreline * track changes over time * identify priority areas for restoration The dataset provides important information for fish and wildlife habitat assessments. This includes identification of significant fish and wildlife areas and habitats like wetlands, woodlands, spawning habitat and biological productive areas. The dataset contains 2 spatial files: * a vector linear layer representing shoreline reaches * another vector polygon layer capturing shoreline and near-shore structures

The Great Lakes Environmental Database (GLENDA) houses environmental data collected by EPA Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO) programs that sample water, aquatic life, sediments, and air to assess the health of the Great Lakes ecosystem. GLENDA is available to the public on the EPA Central Data Exchange (CDX). A CDX account is required, which anyone may create. GLENDA offers “Ready to Download Data Files” prepared by GLNPO or a “Query Data” interface that allows users to select from predefined parameters to create a customized query. Query results can be downloaded in .csv format. GLNPO programs providing data in GLENDA include the Great Lakes Water Quality Survey and Great Lakes Biology Monitoring Program (1983-present, biannual monitoring throughout the Great Lakes to assess water quality, chemical, nutrient, and physical parameters, and biota such as plankton and benthic invertebrates), the Great Lakes Fish Monitoring and Surveillance Program (1977-present, annual analysis of top predator fish composites to assess historic and emerging persistent, bioaccumulative, or toxic chemical contaminants), the Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative (2002-present, intensive water quality and biology sampling of one lake per year focusing on key challenges and data gaps), the Great Lakes Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (1990-present, monitoring Great Lakes air and precipitation for persistent toxic chemicals), the Lake Michigan Mass Balance Study (1993-1996, analyzed the atmosphere, tributaries, sediments, water column, and biota of Lake Michigan for nutrients, atrazine, PCBs, trans-nonachlor, and mercury modelling), and the Great Lakes Legacy Act (1996-present, evaluations of sediment contamination in Areas of Concern). GLENDA is updated frequently with new data.

This dataset contains the Great Lakes Shoreline Ecosystem (GLSE) inventory, which is a geospatial digital inventory of: * ecosite polygon mapping * field survey calibration points * associated ground level ecological data It replaces Great Lakes Shoreline Ecosystem mapping products versions 1.0 and 2.0. It is an update to those products and includes the data and information contained in them but now includes data and information for the entire Canadian side of the Great Lakes shoreline including connecting channels, from the land to water or wetland interface to two kilometers inland. Mapping and ground sampling adheres to the Great Lakes Shoreline Ecosystem classification system, (Lee et. al., in prep.) which is a detailed ecological classification and surveying method.
