As initially announced in October 2019, in the light of the increased number of tariff rate quotas (TRQs) under Canada’s trade agreements, Global Affairs Canada has undertaken an initiative to streamline and simplify public documents related to TRQ administration for supply-managed products. Continuing with the process, we would like to inform you that additional simplified documents are now available on our website in preparation for the TRQs that have an application period starting on May 1st.

Global Affairs Canada has prepared new Notices to Importers for the 2021 calendar year TRQs with an application period starting on October 1, 2020 and a deadline of November 15, 2020.

On September 30, 2016, Global Affairs Canada issued new Notices to Importers (Notices) for several Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQS) that are administered on the TRQ year basis of January 1 to December 31. These updated Notices reflect the policies and procedures associated with the administration of the following TRQs: Beef and Veal (Items 114 to 116 on the Import Control List) Broiler Hatching Eggs and Chicks for Chicken Production (Items 94 and 95 on the Import Control List) Cheeses of all Types (Items 141 to 157 on the Import Control List) Chicken and Chicken Products (Items 96 to 104 on the Import Control List) Eggs and Egg Products (Items 135 to 139 on the Import Control List) Ice Cream and Ice Cream Novelties (Item 134 on the Import Control List) Products of Natural Milk Constituents (Item 125 on the Import Control List) Turkey and Turkey Products (Items 105 to 113 on the Import Control List) Yogurt (Item 158 on the Import Control List) These Notices have been updated to reflect the department’s recent name change from Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada to Global Affairs Canada, to establish a new application deadline date of November 15th, and to address grammatical and formatting issues within the various Notices.

Global Affairs Canada has opened the application period for the 2022 calendar year TRQs, starting on October 1, 2021 and with a deadline of November 15, 2021.

This message is to inform you that Global Affairs Canada has recently updated the calendar year utilization reports for certain supply-managed goods.

This Notice replaces Notice to Importers sets out the policies and practices pertaining to the administration of Canada’s tariff rate quota (TRQ) for cheese under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

This message is to inform you that, effective August 1, 2020, any tariff rate quota (TRQ) quantities available will be found in Key Dates and Access Quantities 2020-2021: TRQs for Supply-Managed Products. This document will be updated regularly to reflect changes in the quantities available under each respective TRQ.

This Notice replaces Notice to Importers No. 949 dated October 1, 2019, and sets out the policies and practices pertaining to the administration of Canada’s tariff rate quota (TRQ) for eggs under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
