Ontario provincial land cover 1996 - 28 classes
This data was produced in 1999 by rationalizing a 48-class database into 28 distinct classes. The original database was derived from digital, multispectral Landsat Thematic Mapper data recorded between 1986 and 1997, with most of the satellite data frames recorded in the early 1990s. The resulting database includes: * vegetation types such as forests, wetlands and pasture * categories of non-vegetated surface such as waterbodies, bedrock or settlements The data reflects the nature of the land surface rather than the land use.

Southern Ontario Land Resource Information System
공공데이터포털
Data covers natural, rural and urban lands in Ecoregions 6E and 7E, current to 2000-2002. This land use inventory supports key provincial initiatives including: * source water protection * natural spaces * biodiversity conservation * state of resources reporting
Provincial land cover
공공데이터포털
The land cover classes consist of vegetation types (such as forest, wetlands and agricultural crops or pasture) and categories of non-vegetated surface (such as water bodies, bedrock outcrops or settlements). These classes reflect the nature of the land surface rather than actual or potential land use. The 2000 Edition of the Ontario Land Cover Data Base is the Second Edition of this provincial land cover classification. The coverage is derived wholly from Landsat-7 Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite data frames recorded between 1999 and 2002, most from 2000 onward. The Provincial Land Cover (2000) Data Base is divided into 4 individual Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) grid zone tiles (15, 16, 17, and 18) and is distributed in TIFF format. Documentation is provided with this database in the form of a user's guide and general use caveats. *[TIFF]: Tagged Image File Format *[TM]: Thematic Mapper *[UTM]: Universal Transverse Mercator
Site regions and districts
공공데이터포털
Site Regions and Site Districts of Ontario represent an early Ecological Land Classification (ELC) system originally developed by Angus Hills. This dataset was revised by the ELC Working Group in 2000 to better reflect new information and new technology. The Site Regions of Ontario was used for descriptive, planning, and resource management purposes. This upper level in its hierarchy was most useful for provincial and regional roll-ups of data and for strategic planning. Site Districts of Ontario is a more detailed lower (finer-scale) level of the hierarchy, and was more useful for detailed resource management prescriptions and other local and site planning applications. This layer is designed to be used as a spatial selection tool and as a background layer suitable for overlay and or intersection with numerous scales or current hydrologic data. *[ELC]: Ecological Land Classification
Agricultural resource inventory
공공데이터포털
The Agricultural Resource Inventory 1983 (ARI 1983) dataset includes agricultural land use and drainage systems information. This dataset evaluates the mix of crops and classifies them into different categories which are valid over a long period of time. Mapping these systems provides an overview of the location, quantity and quality of the use of agricultural land in southern Ontario. Used by farmers, land use planners, municipal officials, policy makers and the general public. This dataset is no longer collected or maintained. Information and data held by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for this record is historical.
Ontario Mass Points and Breaklines
공공데이터포털
This dataset is a collection of 3D mass points and breakline features that were interpreted using photogrammetry from aerial photography. The elevation data is organized into tiles grouped into packages for download. This data is for geospatial tech specialists, and is used by government, municipalities, conservation authorities and the private sector for land use planning and environmental analysis.
