This layer provides a geographic interpretation of Marine Park and Aquatic Reserve boundaries in NSW as described in the NSW Marine Estate Management (Management Rules) Regulation 1999 and NSW Government Gazette (Aquatic Reserves). Polygons and associated data are identical to those submitted to the DoE for the CAPAD 2018.

This digital soil landscape product contains natural resource mapping for the NSW portion of the Clarence-Moreton Basin and surrounding area in the far North Coast of NSW. Mapping covers an area of 25,604 km2, extending from the Queensland border down to south of Grafton and west to approximately the Clarence River. The dataset includes existing published 1:100,000 soil landscape mapping along the coast (Murwillumbah – Tweed Heads, Lismore – Ballina, Woodburn, Dorrigo [part] and Coffs Harbour [part]), incorporates previous unpublished draft 1:100,000 Western Richmond soil landscapes and maps the remaining area around Bare Point and the western region with a 1:250,000 reconnaissance soil survey. 229 soil landscape map units have been described within this North Coast region. Each unit is an inventory of soil and landscape information with relatively uniform land management requirements, allowing major soil and landscape qualities and constraints to be identified. Some representative type profiles are supported by laboratory analysis and soils are described using the Australian Soil Classification and the Great Soil Groups systems. Related Datasets: The dataset area is also covered by the mapping of the Soil landscape 1:100 000 and 1:250 000 mapping series for the map sheets of Murwillumbah-Tweed Heads, Lismore-Ballina, Woodburn, Dorrigo and Coffs Harbour. Nearshore reef extent was classified for the NSW coast using best-available high resolution aerial imagery. Statewide mapping of nearshore reef extent was performed from 2010 to 2017 along the entire NSW coastline using aerial imagery from governmental and commercial bodies. An understanding of the spatial extent and distribution of coastal habitats contributes critical baseline information to inform decision-making and strategic planning processes.

The USGS Land Cover program has combined the tried-and-true methodologies from premier land cover projects, National Land Cover Database (NLCD) and Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP), together with modern innovations in geospatial deep learning technologies to create the next generation of land cover and land change information. The product suite is called, “Annual NLCD Land Cover Products” and includes four annual products that represent land cover and surface change characteristics of the U.S.: 1) Land Cover, 2) Land Cover Change, 3) Land Cover Confidence, and 4) Spectral Change Day of Year. These Land Cover science product algorithms harness the remotely sensed Landsat data record to provide state-of-the-art land surface change information needed by scientists, resource managers, and decision-makers. Annual NLCD uses a modernized, integrated approach to map, monitor, synthesize, and understand the complexities of land use, cover, and condition change.
