Data points, corresponding to the bathymetric contours of Lago La Plata, Puerto Rico, March-April 2015
The U.S. Geological Survey conducted a sedimentation survey of Lago La Plata, Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, during March and April 2015 to provide up-to-date information about the relation of pool elevation and storage volume in the reservoir. The survey was conducted in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority. A total of 264 navigation lines were surveyed, using a depth sounding device coupled to a global positioning system. The results of the survey were used to prepare a bathymetric map showing the reservoir bottom referenced with respect to the spillway elevation.

Data points, corresponding to the bathymetric survey of Lago Guayabal, Puerto Rico, December 2017
공공데이터포털
This dataset is a point shapefile containing water-depth points collected during a sedimention survey of Lago Guayabal conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. More than 270,000 water-depth points were surveyed along 60 navigation lines used in previous sedimentation surveys (Soler-Lopez, 2003, 2007, 2008). All water-depth data were collected using a Teledyne-Odom Echotrac CVM depth sounder coupled to a Global Positioning System (GPS). Esri ArcGIS software, version 10.5 (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 2017), was used to edit the depth data and create a triangulated irregular network (TIN) model, from which bathymetric contours and a stage-volume relation were generated.
Reservoir shoreline for the bathymetric survey of Lago Carite, Puerto Rico, January 2018
공공데이터포털
This dataset is a polygon shapefile containing the reservoir shoreline for the sedimentation survey of Lago Carite, Puerto Rico. This polygon was used to constraint the extent of the Triangulated irregular network (TIN) model and ultimately, to generate contours from bathymetric data collected during the period January 23 - January 30, 2018 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. Field techniques used during the survey were similar to those outlined by Soler-López and Carrasquillo-Nieves, (2001) and Wilson and Richards (2006). A total of 137 planned transect lines were surveyed, and over 269,119 water-depth measurements were made across the reservoir. All water-depth data were collected using a Teledyne-Odom Echotrac CVM depth sounder coupled to a Global Positioning System (GPS). Esri ArcGIS, version 10.5 (reference similar to that in metadata for point shapefile), was used to edit the depth data and create a triangulated irregular network (TIN) model, from which bathymetric contours and a stage-volume relation were generated. Data points collected during the bathymetric survey of Lago Caonillas, Utuado, Puerto Rico, September-November 2012
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains the data points collected during the bathymetric survey of Lago Caonillas between September and November 2012 by U.S. Geological Survey. The 2012 bathymetric survey was conducted using a bathymetric/land survey system, consisting of a global positioning system (GPS) coupled to a digital depth sounder. A total of 155 survey navigation lines were established at 50 meter (m) intervals, beginning at the dam and continuing upstream along the river branches of the reservoir. Geographic position (accuracy of less than 2 m) and water depths (accuracy of 2 centimeters [cm] ±1 percent of the measured depth) were acquired simultaneously using the GPS interfaced to the depth sounder. The fathometer was calibrated prior to each day of survey by using a bar check. Data points collected on September 2012 for Lago Caonillas were adjusted to represent depth relative to the spillway elevation (251.76 meters above mean sea level). However, data collected during November 2012 was not adjusted since the water elevation at the reservoir was at the crest of the spillway structure. The reservoir pool elevation was monitored at the continuous recording USGS lake-level monitoring station 50026140 Lago Caonillas at damsite near Utuado, Puerto Rico. Lago Caonillas is owned and operated by the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) since 1996. Because of the importance of Lago Caonillas to the North Coast Superaqueduct, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with PRASA, conducted a sedimentation survey of Lago Caonillas between September and November 2012 to update estimates of the reservoir’s storage capacity.
Spatial and bathymetric data for Lago Patillas, Puerto Rico, August 2019
공공데이터포털
Metadata for this geodatabase describe datasets included in the bathymetric study completed for Lago Patillas in August 2019. The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, carried out a bathymetric survey to update stage-volume table for Lago Patillas and to generate a bathymetric map. Water-depth data were collected using a bathymetric data collection system coupling a digital depth sounder (single-beam fathometer) and a high-quality antenna. Raw water-depth data collected in August 2019 were referenced to the water-surface elevation at the time of the reservoir survey and were merged with light detection and ranging (lidar) cloud data collected in 2016–17. The dataset included in this geodatabase consists of the following: (1) data points (XYZ) collected in the 2019 bathymetric survey through a fathometer and graduated hand-held rod measurements; (2) 2016–17 lidar-cloud data; (3) boundary of Lago Patillas at an elevation of 67.55 meters above the Puerto Rico Vertical Datum of 2002; (4) a digital terrain model created from data stored in the geodatabase; and, (5) a stage-volume table calculated at 1.0-meter stage intervals from the terrain model.
