Temperature profile data from XBT casts in the South Atlantic Ocean from R/V GAUSS and other platforms from 1999-01-01 to 2001-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0000694)
Temperature profiles were collected from XBT casts in the South Atlantic Ocean from R/V GAUSS and other platforms. Data were collected in support of the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE), Gulf of Mexico NOAA/NMFS Ship of Opportunity (SOOP), and the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Data were submitted by Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie and were collected from 01 January 1999 to 31 December 2001.

Temperature profiles from XBT casts from the USS CURTS and other platforms from the North Atlantic Ocean and other locations as part of the South Atlantic Bight project from 1980-04-30 to 1986-04-24 (NCEI Accession 8600175)
공공데이터포털
Temperature profiles were collected from XBT casts from the USS CURTS and other platforms from 30 April 1980 to 24 April 1986. Data were submitted by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) as part of the South Atlantic Bight project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. The UBT format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. The XBT data files contain temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths were recorded at the minimum number of points ("inflection points") required to accurately define the temperature curve. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m. The following was present prior to current abstract edit but does not conform to digital data. This record contains Sofar float (subsurface drifter) data collected during the GUSREX (GUlf Stream Recirculation EXperiment) in the Northern Atlantic. There were 41 deployments from April 30 to December 31, 1980. The data was collected over a period of 6 years from April 30, 1980 to April 24, 1986. The floats were deployed at 700 and 2000 m depths. Additional parameters measured were temperature and pressure. These data were submitted by Dr. Phil Richardson, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). The data is currently available in the C116 Bathythermograph file format of NODC.
Temperature profile data collected using XBT casts from the CHAIN from the Atlantic Ocean during the International Decade of Ocean Exploration / Mid-Ocean Dynamics Experiment (IDOE/MODE) project, 1975-05-25 to 1975-06-07 (NCEI Accession 7601261)

Temperature profile data were collected using bathythermograph (BT/XBT) casts from CHAIN in the Atlantic Ocean from May 25, 1973 to June 7, 1973. Data were submitted by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as part of the International Decade of Ocean Exploration / Mid-Ocean Dynamics Experiment (IDOE/MODE) project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. The UBT format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data record was comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. Unlike the MBT Data File, in which temperature values were recorded at uniform 5 m intervals, the XBT data files contained temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths were recorded at the minimum number of points ("inflection points") required to accurately define the temperature curve. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. With special instruments, measurements can be obtained to 1830 m.
