Genomic data from reduced representation DNA sequencing libraries of two partially fossorial salamanders Plethodon jordani and Desmognathus wrighti from Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This dataset contains sample information about the origin of the Desmognathus wrighti and Plethodon jordani salamanders collected from Great Smoky Mountains National Park and sequenced, and their corresponding SNP genotype data. These data were used to examine patterns of genomic structure of these two salamander species within Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Population genetic data for wild Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) from the Midwestern United States and selected domestic strains

This dataset includes microsatellite genotypes for 8,454 brook trout from 188 wild Midwestern populations and 26 hatchery strains of both Midwest and eastern (Atlantic seaboard) origin. Each individual was genotyped at either 5 or 7 loci.
Penstemon grahamii genetic data from a dryland region of the western United States

These data were compiled to investigate the evolutionary history of Graham's beardtongue (Penstemon grahamii). Objective(s) of our study were to determine the evolutionary history of P. grahamii, including ancestral population sizes, the history of population divergences, and historical connectivity. In addition, we characterized population structure, genetic diversity summary statistics, and landscape factors influencing differentiation. These data represent anonymous loci sequenced from throughout the P. grahamii genome (specifically, .vcf and .structure files). Data in these files were manipulated to represent site frequency spectra between population pairs (.data files). These data were collected in 2019 from across the P. grahamii distribution, which is located in northeastern Utah and western Colorado. Specifically, plants are located at lower elevations on the northern slope of the Book Cliffs, which forms the southern side of the Uinta Basin. These data were collected by employees of the U.S. Geological Survey. Known occurrences of P. grahamii were visited and leaf samples from individual plants were collected from across the species’ distribution. These data can be used to further investigate the genetic differentiation, genetic diversity, and evolutionary history of P. grahamii.

Includes data used to estimate population demographic parameters for an exemplary high-elevation amphibian species, the federally endangered Shenandoah salamander (Plethodon shenandoah). These parameters were entered into a Markov projection model which we used to forecast the future population status of the Shenandoah salamander.

Vector datasets of CWHR range maps are one component of California Wildlife Habitat Relationships (CWHR), a comprehensive information system and predictive model for Californias wildlife. The CWHR System was developed to support habitat conservation and management, land use planning, impact assessment, education, and research involving terrestrial vertebrates in California. CWHR contains information on life history, management status, geographic distribution, and habitat relationships for wildlife species known to occur regularly in California. Range maps represent the maximum, current geographic extent of each species within California. They were originally delineated at a scale of 1:5,000,000 by species-level experts and have gradually been revised at a scale of 1:1,000,000.
