This data set consists of 0.5-foot pixel resolution, natural color orthoimages covering Walton County, Georgia. An orthoimage is remotely sensed image data in which displacement of features in the image caused by terrain relief and sensor orientation have been mathematically removed. Orthoimagery combines the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. Each orthoimage provides imagery over a 2,500-foot by 2,500-foot block on the ground. There is no image overlap between adjacent files. The projected coordinate system is Georgia State Plane West (FIPS 1002) feet with a NAD83 datum. A secondary set of GeoTIFF tiles, MrSID tiles, and MrSID mosaic was produced in WGS84 Lat/Long.

2018 Coastal Georgia 4-Band 8 Bit Imagery

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Office for Coastal Management and Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) requires acquisition and processing of 4-band aerial imagery. The data is to be collected during leaf‐off conditions during +/- 2 hours of low tide. The sun angle shall not be less than 30 degrees and there shall be no clouds, cloud shadows or haze in the imagery. The imagery shall be acquired when streams and rivers are within their banks when there is no flooding conditions. This data set is consisting of an area of interest (AOI) for the NOAA Coastal GA Imagery project. Aerial Imagery acquisition for this project was completed in nine (9) flight lifts undertaken between the 25th of February and 13th of March 2018.

2012 Oconee County, Georgia ADS80 Imagery

All imagery was collected during the 2012 Spring flying season during leaf-off conditions for deciduous vegetation in the State of Georgia. The sun angle was at 30-degrees or greater, and streams were within their normal banks. During the flight planning and acquisition, a significant effort was made to limit clouds, snow, fog, haze, smoke, or other ground obscuring conditions in the imagery. In no case does the maximum cloud cover exceed 5% per image. Within the immediate areas of power plants, factories, or controlled agricultural burns some steam or smoke and/or shadows may be visible on imagery.
