Conductivity, temperature, depth, fluorescence, optical backscatter, laser in-situ scattering and transmissivity, acoustic zooplankton biomass, net zooplankton counts, and suspended particle data from the RV HUGH R. SHARP in the upper Chesapeake Bay from 2007-02-23 to 2008-10-09 as part of the Bio-Physical Interaction in the Turbidity Maximum (BITMAX-II) program (NCEI Accession 0062884)
Data set contains Cruise Reports and CTD data from 8 main cruises in the upper Chesapeake Bay on board the R/V Hugh R. Sharp from February 2007 to October 2008. Objectives of this cruise were to sample the estuarine turbidity maximum (ETM) region of the Chesapeake Bay with a suite of in situ sensors (conductivity, temperature, depth, fluorometer, optical backscatter sensor, laser in-situ scattering and transmissometry device (LISST 100C), and Tracor acoustic profiling system (TAPS)), Niskin bottles, MOCNESS zooplankton nets, and a digital imaging particle settling tube with in-situ capture (DIPSTIC). The ETM in this system is most prominent in deeper waters of the shipping channel near the freshwater/saltwater interface. Our sampling strategy included 1) axial surveys of the region with CTD casts and Niskin bottles conducted at 11 stations, 2) axial surveys to sample zooplankton with MOCNESS net tows, and 3) time course sampling with Niskin bottles and DIPSTIC at three anchor stations.

CTD, water quality, and phytoplankton data from the R/V Bellows cruise BE-1322 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2013-06-02 to 2013-06-04 (NCEI Accession 0161217)
공공데이터포털
This dataset contains conductivity, temperature, and depth data from R/V Bellows cruise BE-1322 of the offshore shelf of the Florida Panhandle Bight at the head of DeSoto Canyon from June 2nd to 4th, 2013. Water samples collected were analyzed by the Wetlands Research Laboratory at the University of West Florida for nutrient concentrations. Water samples were filtered in the lab and cell counts for phytoplankton species are reported. Phytoplankton were photographed using scanning electron microscopy and images are provided in this dataset.
Quantitative phytoplankton profiles data collected from R/V Bellows cruise BE-1415 in the Gulf of Mexico on 2014-05-31 (NCEI Accession 0176591)
공공데이터포털
This dataset reports plankton species abundance from 5 sites off the Florida Panhandle at the head of DeSoto Canyon, Gulf of Mexico aboard the R/V Bellows cruise BE-1415 on 2014-05-31. The R/V Bellows cruise BE-1415 extended from 2014-05-29 to 2014-06-01. Quantitative phytoplankton profiles were collected at 5 sites (P1, P3, P5, P7, P9) along the Pensacola transect (Longitude -87.25 degrees N). For this, one-liter samples were collected from the surface and at different depths using Niskin bottles. Samples were filtered onto a 0.45-micrometer nitrocellulose filter and air-dried. A portion of each filter was mounted on an aluminum stub, sputter-coated, and examined with a JEOL JSM-6480 LV scanning electron microscope. Diatoms, coccolithophores, and armored dinoflagellates were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic category. The number of cells of each taxon in a field of view at a magnification of 1000x was recorded, with up to 700 fields-of-view examined, depending on the density of phytoplankton in the sample. The dataset includes the depth, the volume filtered, the number of cells of each taxon counted, and the calculated abundance of each taxon in cells per liter. Micrographs taken during the analysis are included.
