Geodatabase of fish assemblages for the Florida Coral Reef Tract from 1980-01-01 to 2010-12-31 (NCEI Accession 0125569)
This dataset is a point shapefile showing the distribution of species richness, Shannon's Diversity (H), and Shannon's Evenness (J) along the Florida Keys (Key Biscayne to Key West based on data collected from 1980 through 2010. Point estimates of species richness, Shannon's diversity (H), and Evenness were derived from Reef Visual Census (RVC) Surveys. RVC surveys were conducted using a cooperative multi-agency Reef Fish Monitoring Protocol for the Florida Keys Coral Reef Ecosystem (Menza et al., 2006; Brandt et al., 2009). Data on fish occurrence and abundance were collected using a 200-m x 200-m polygon grid developed by The University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (UM-RSMAS) and the National Marine Fisheries Southeast Fisheries Science Center (NFMS-SEFSC). The grid forms the basis for a two-stage stratified random sampling allocation scheme that was developed to estimate important metrics for living resource populations (e.g., corals and reef fishes) in Southwest Florida, extending from Martin County in the northeast through the Florida Keys to the Dry Tortugas in the southwest (Jeffrey et al., 2012; Ault et al., In Press). This dataset is part of an spatial analytical framework that was developed: 1) to describe the spatial distribution patterns of living resources (reef fish, algae, corals, gorgonians, sponges, and other benthic invertebrates along the Florida Coral Reef Tract (FCRT); 2) document temporal changes in benthic communities throughout the region, and 3) inform the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Marine Zoning and Regulatory Review process. The timeline for the review process is November 2011 through Summer 2015.

Data set used for Patterns in physical structure of coral reefs in Florida, USA
공공데이터포털
This file contains coral reef physical structure summary data collected from 6,016 10m2 stations in the Florida Reef Tract during 2005-2020 that was put together and modified for analysis by William S. Fisher. Data were taken from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Disturbance Response Monitoring (DRM) Program. A worksheet tab called "File information" contains a description and explanation of the data. This dataset is associated with the following publication: Fisher, W.S., and J.F. Carriger. Patterns in physical structure of coral communities in Florida, USA. CORAL REEFS. Springer, New York, NY, USA, 44: 1495-1512, (2025).

Reef fish abundance and size data collected by transect and stationary point count methods: a calibration to enable the use of long-term, fishery-independent data by fisheries and regional managers in the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS) (NCEI Accession 0299733)
공공데이터포털
This project ensures that the existing data from previous fishery independent surveys can be combined with data collected under new methodology, ensuring preservation of long-time series reef fish datasets in the FGBNMS. Specifically, this archived dataset are the site level fish abundance and size observations made by one transect diver and a pair of stationary point count divers. These collection methods represent the transition of the National Coral Reef Monitoring Program (NCRMP) belt-transect survey methodology to the currently used Reef Visual Census (RVC) survey methodology, respectively. More information about the methodologies can be found (Jeffrey 2019 & CRCP 2022). In the FGBNMS, the National Coral Reef Monitoring Program began in 2013. Initially, the belt transect method was used for fish surveys, but then transitioned to the RVC method in the FGBNMS by 2018. This dataset is the field samples collected in order to properly calibrate belt transect data to RVC data.
