Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Washita Battlefield National Historic Site
공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Since WABA represented a fairly small and accessible site no new imagery or aerial photography was deemed necessary for this project. Instead existing sources of imagery were evaluated and two NAIP products were selected to be used as base maps. Images included the 2003 and 2005 NAIP products. The 2003 had 1-meter resolution and the 2005 had 2-meter resolution. Both were acquired at 1:12,000-scale, which is adequate for vegetation mapping purposes. The 2003 imagery was acquired in true color and at higher resolution that helps highlight subtle differences in vegetation.

Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Aerial photography from 2001 served as the base map, and field sampling was conducted from 2002–2006. Spatial data were digitized onscreen over digital orthophoto mosaics created from scanned color infrared, stereo pair 1:6,000 scale aerial photography using a 0.5 hectare minimum mapping unit.

Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Petersburg National Battlefield
공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Two sets of digital orthophoto mosaics, leaf-on (fall) and leaf-off (spring), were created for Petersburg National Battlefield. To achieve manageable file sizes, each set is made up of five files that, together, cover the entire geographic extent of the park. Kucera International acquired color infrared, stereo pair 1:6,000 scale aerial photography for the leaf-on mosaics on October 23, 2001, and for the leaf-off mosaics on February 28, 2002. The photography was delivered to the NPS, quality checked, accepted as provided, and sent to NCSU-CEO.

This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The 1999 CIR scenes were scanned and subsequently mosaicked to create a continuous coverage of PAAL and adjacent lands at a <1-m spatial resolution. The spatial resolution or image element (pixel) was determined by the original photographic scale and scanning resolution. Color infrared photography was scanned in the blue, green, and red wavelength ranges creating three image planes related to the green, red, and near infrared landscape components. All three image planes were entered into the classification. All landscape classifications employed a widely used and documented progressive clustering technique driven by an unsupervised K-means clustering algorithm (PCI Geomatics 1998, Ramsey and Laine 1997, Ramsey et al. 1998, Ramsey et al. 2002). In the classifications, the spectral values associated with each image element (pixel) were combined into spectrally similar clusters. These clusters were then associated with identifiable earth landscape features.
