Water speed, acoustic echo intensity from moored ADCP and water temperature, conductivity, and other parameters taken by CTD from research vessels Strickland and Heron in coastal waters of southeast Alaska and British Columbia from 2015-06-14 to 2015-06-16 (NCEI Accession 0202076)
This dataset contains water conductivity and temperature casts collected by CTD from the research vessel Heron. Voltage profiles were measured by an optical backscatter probe deployed from research vessel Heron. ADCP instrument was deployed 30 m above the seabed, suspended from a fixed vessel (research vessel Strickland). The research vessel Strickland was moored (using 4 anchors) above the central submarine channel downstream of the Squamish delta. File Beamave_EA.txt contains the echo intensity averaged between four ADCP beams in counts. Echo intensity was used to derive the concentration of suspended sediment from 30 m to 60 m water depth, using an acoustic inversion method and physical samples for calibration. File vmag.txt contains the magnitude of velocity in m/s. These data were used to obtain the turbidity current measured on 15th June 2015. Data are in ASCII format.

Sea Bird Electronics SBE19plus CTD sensor measurements of depth, temperature, and conductivity were used for speed of sound calculations through the water column. Casts were conducted at least once daily on board R/V C-Wolf and more often as needed. Dual CTDs were obtained periodically to ensure proper working order of sensors. Data are in ASCII (CNV) format.

This dataset contains CTD measurements of sound speed, water temperature, salinity and conductivity in coastal waters of Texas, Gulf of Mexico, approaches to Galveston from 2017-09-14 to 2018-03-13. Casts were conducted at least twice a day on board R/V Sea Scout and at least once a day on board R/V C-Wolf. Dual CTD casts were obtained at least once a week to ensure a proper performance of sensors. Data from vessel Sea Scout and vessel CWolf contain salinity and conductivity, respectively. Data were collected under contract with the NOAA. Data are in cnv format.

This data package is comprised of discrete in-situ measurements of water temperature, conductivity, pressure and calculated salinity taken by CTD and current velocity taken by ADCP and acoustic current meters from the Agulhas System Climate Array (ASCA) sub-surface mooring array, from 2016-04-10 to 2018-06-10. Each file in the set represents a single instrument's complete time series record, along with the nominal instrument depth and mooring latitude/longitude. The data have been calibrated and edited to remove outliers. Data are in NetCDF.
