Temperature and salinity profiles were collected from CTD casts in the SW Atlantic (limit-20 W) from the ROBERT D. CONRAD from 06 January 1974 to 06 March 1975. Data were collected by the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory as part of the International Decade of Ocean Exploration / International Ocean Studies / First Dynamic Response and Kinematics Experiment in the Drake Passage (IDOE/ISOS/FDRAKE). Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F022 High-Resolution CTD/STD Output Format. Analog data are available for this accession by contacting NODC user services. The F022 format contains high-resolution data collected using CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) and STD (salinity-temperature-depth) instruments. As they are lowered and raised in the oceans, these electronic devices provide nearly continuous profiles of temperature, salinity, and other parameters. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering or obtained by interpolation and may be reported at depth intervals as fine as 1m. Cruise and instrument information, position, date, time and sampling interval are reported for each station. Environmental data at the time of the cast (meteorological and sea surface conditions) may also be reported. The data record comprises values of temperature, salinity or conductivity, density (computed sigma-t), and possibly dissolved oxygen or transmissivity at specified depth or pressure levels. Temperature, salinity, chemical, and other data were collected using CTD casts from the SOUTHERN SURVEYOR in the Iceland Sea and North / South Pacific Ocean. Data were collected from 12 April 2003 to 09 April 2006 by Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).

This water temperature and salinity profile data set is a product from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) used to compare contemporaneous XBT and CTD casts. The data were collected aboard the Australian ships Aurora Australis, Franklin, and Southern Surveyor in the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and surrounding seas of Australia, between 9 January 1986 and 29 January 2011.

Salinity and temperature profile data were collected using XCTD and CTD casts from R/V MIRAI in the North/South Pacific Ocean from 07 January 2002 to 30 March 2003. Data were submitted by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC).

Ocean pressure, temperature, and salinity data are reported from 85 CTD profiles acquired in the Bellingshausen Sea. These austral spring observations, taken along the continental shelf slope to a nominal depth of 500m (interspersed with a few full depth profiles), comprise a portion of several related data sets obtained during NBP07-09, from Punta Arenas to Punta Arenas, Chile. Additional sampling was undertaken for physical, geochemical and biological parameters of sea ice and upper ocean, as well as ocean currents and continuous underway mapping of sea surface properties, meteorological variables and bathymetry.

Temperature and salinity profiles were collected from CTD casts along the eastern coast of the U.S. from the R/V Whiting, Bay Hydrographer, and Hydrographic Field Party 1 from 14 February 1997 to 03 December 1997. Data are in the Wood Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) CTD exchange format.
