The invention relates to a device of the type adapted to deliver fluids, notably medicaments, under pressure. The device comprises a container 1 of variable volume in the form or shape of a pouch or flexible receptacle of generally cylindrical shape with longitudinal pleats 2 containing the fluid under pressure to be delivered and equipped with an actuator C permitting to open a valve 15 a , 15 b to enable the delivery of said fluid, the whole being located inside a container 4 capable of resisting to an elevated internal pressure, the internal volume of the latter container comprised between its wall and the container of variable volume being filled with a neutral gas under a pressure sufficient to exert on the container of variable volume a pneumatic constraint sufficient to permit the delivery of the therein contained fluid when the above-said valve permitting said delivery is operated by the aforementioned actuator C.

Disclosed is a device for dispensing a fluid, in particular a carbonated beverage, from a storage chamber of a container towards the outside via at least one closeable discharge port, comprising a pressure reservoir which is separated from the storage chamber and in which a pressurized propellant is accommodated, and which can be connected to the storage chamber via a pressure regulation mechanism. The pressure regulation mechanism includes an axially moveable regulating element that is impinged upon by means of a spring in the direction of an open position in which propellant is discharged from the pressure reservoir into the storage chamber. The ambient pressure to which the container is exposed acts upon the regulating element in the direction of the open position, and the internal pressure inside the storage chamber of the container acts upon the regulating element in the direction of the closed position.

A manually-actuated device for the deliver of a volume of liquid which includes an outlet through which liquid is in use delivered and a cover member which is movably disposed relative to the housing between a first position in which the cover member at least partly covers the outlet and a second position in which the cover member acts as a lever which in use is acted upon by a user to actuate the delivery device.

@ A beverage dispensing system has a valve in a tap 6 controlling dispensing of the beverage through a passage 5 from a rigid or flexible container. Air, nitrogen (or other inert gas) or carbon dioxide gas from a passage 15 is introduced into the beverage in the passage 5 during dispensing for development of a head or froth. The introduced gas flows under pressure (which is preferably adjustable) from the passage 15 and by way of a capilliary tube restrictor 18 and a non return valve 21 communicating with the tube 18 into the beverage in passage 5. The non return valve 21 has a resilient diaphragm 27 which normally closes that valve and is displaceable under gas pressure to admit the gas to the beverage. A labyrinthine mixer 39 is located in the passage 5 downstream of the position where the gas is introduced.

Equipment (10) for the preparation of a hot beverage comprising a boiler (10) capable of containing a liquid component of the beverage, for example water, a collection container (14) and means (22, 20, 28) defining a delivery path for the liquid component from the boiler to the collection container. The equipment also comprises valve means (40) located along the delivery path for the liquid component comprising a plug (44) which can move between a position in which the delivery path is closed and one in which it is open and means (70, 72; 74, 76; 78) to immobilise the plug in the open position. These means are arranged in such a way that they can be activated and deactivated by a force exerted in the direction of movement of the plug.

A device and process for preventing medical errors due to the improper administration of an intravenously delivered medication includes the spectroscopic analysis of intravenous fluid components. An emission source and detector are placed adjacent to the intravenous tubing of an administration set to generate signals for spectroscopic analysis. The signals are processed to identify the medication and, in certain embodiments of the invention, can determine the medication's concentration. In a preferred embodiment, the emission source, detector, and hardware and software for the spectroscopic analysis are placed in an infusion pump.

The object of this invention is to provide a device for regulating the flow rate of an intravenous medical solution during an injection using an intravenous drip unit. The device has a housing ( 10 ) mounted to a hose ( 300 ) to allow the flow of the solution from a solution container ( 200 ) into the vein, and a control member ( 20 ) rotatably assembled with the housing to regulate the flow rate of the solution. The housing has first and second seats ( 11, 12 ) communicating with inlet and outlet ports, and the control member has first and second bosses ( 21, 22 ) seated in the first and second seats. An arc-shaped solution path ( 23 ), a radial channel ( 24 ) and an annular groove ( 25 ) are formed on the control member to regulate the flow rate of the solution in accordance with an adjusted angle of the control member relative to the fixed housing.

A medical agent dispensing system can be provided that may be structured for use with a surgical severing/stapling instrument (10) that is designed for severing and stapling tissue. The dispensing system may include at least one storage reservoir (92,94) structured for storing at least a component of a medical agent; a gear pump casing (72) in communication with the storage reservoir; a screw pump auger (76) positioned within the gear pump casing capable of rotational manipulation to move the medical agent through the gear pump casing; and, at least one agent tube (78,80) in communication with the gear pump casing. The agent tube may be structured for communication with at least one agent port (82,84,86) formed in a staple cartridge of the surgical instrument for dispensing the medical agent therethrough.

The invention concerns a device (1) for manipulating tools comprising two parts, said device being of the type consisting of a frame and at least one tray forming a table, designed to receive the mold. The invention is characterized in that it comprises two horizontally arranged trays (6, 9-7, 8) one of which is arranged sliding on the frame to be mobile in translation relative to the other tray, from a close position to a remote position and inversely, so as to enable the tool to be manually opened and closed.

An airless dispensing pump for liquid products including a push button with a spray nozzle which communicates with a network of channels that is provided locally on the wall of an internal truncated-cone-shaped bore, and a housing. An upper part of the housing includes a dosing cell having an elastically-deformable wall, which is equipped with an intake valve and topped with a rigid collar for fixing same inside the bore of the aforementioned button. Moreover, the outer periphery of the collar has an inclined face which defines a swirl chamber opposite the above-mentioned network, while the inner periphery thereof is quipped with a passage to the chamber.
