Marine Optical Characterization Experiment in situ pigment database for the Central North Pacific from the Americas to west of Hawaii during 1992 - 2004 (NCEI Accession 0010454)
This biological oceanographic dataset was derived from cruises in support of the the validation of satellite ocean color imagery data collected by the Sea-Viewing Wide-Field-of-View Sensor (SeaWiFS) and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). Cruises were on various vessels over 1992-2004. Collection instruments varied among bottle, bucket, and cooler samples, Seabird, MLML, and SeaCAT sensors, pump systems, and vessel-mounted seachest/intake pipes. Includes both shipboard/field and laboratory fluorometrics. Collection methods varied among track continuous sampling, grid, profile, station, calibration, diver, and dock. This pigment database contains estimates of chlorophyll_a concentrations and many miscellaneous biological fields, such as PHAEO, TPG, phytin_a, chl_a_allom, chl_a_prime, mv_chl_a, to name a few.

NASA sponsored field research activities to build the database of world-wide data. These data were collected on numerous cruises on numerous platforms.
SeaWiFS calibration/validation historical pigment database 1993 (NCEI Accession 9400037)
공공데이터포털
The Profiles of Chlorophyll data from NASA Goddard and Phytoplankton wet weight data in this accession was submitted by Mr. Charles R. McClain of US National Aeronautic and Space Administration, Washington DC. The data was collected in 15 different oceans and compiled in SeaWiFS calibration/validation historical pigment database. There are two versions of the data base. One contains approx. 180,000 records for depths of 0-10 meters. A second file contains approx. 330,000 records and includes all available depths provided by the individual investigators. Detailed Documentation is available for data format. Southern Surveyor Voyage SS 01/99 HPLC Pigment and Ocean Colour Data
공공데이터포털
This record contains data collected at 7 stations on the Southern Surveyor cruise SS 01/99. Water samples were collected from an area of the Southern Ocean near MacQuarie Island to determine the bio-optical properties of water masses in these regions. The data can be used for Ocean Colour and CDOM sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and the absorption coefficient for dissolved (CDOM) particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. In addition to the station samples, 47 water samples were collected from the outflow of the underway fluorometer and analysed for the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments only.

공공데이터포털
This record contains data collected at 16 stations on the Franklin cruise FR07/07 in an area between the mouth of the Sepik River, Papua New Guinea and the equator. The data were collected to determine the bio-optical characteristics of this region and the effect of the Sepik River outflow on such data. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and the absorption coefficient for dissolved (CDOM) particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. A BSI (Biospherical Instruments) six channel radiometer was also deployed during this voyage.

This record contains data collected on the RV Southern Surveyor, in the Indian ocean between August and September 2012. Samples along the original cruise track were collected off Fremantle, and extra samples were collected between the Dampier Peninsula and Wannanup. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and retrieved chlorophyll a estimate, and the absorption coefficient for particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. 44 stations were sampled.
Physical, Chemical, Biological, and Optical In Situ Data from Cruises Number 1-5 of the Marine Optical Characterization Experiment during 1991-1999 (NCEI Accession 0000350)
공공데이터포털
This dataset includes physical, chemical, biological, and optical In Situ data from the USS DE STEIGUER (AGOR 12), MELVILLE, MOANA WAVE, EL PUMA, ONRUST, and ED RICKETTS from August 30, 1992 to October 21, 1999. Data were submitted by US National Aeronautic and Space Administration; Goddard Space Flight Center and San Diego State University as part of the Marine Optical Characterization Experiment (MOCE) project. Data were collected using CTD, fluorometer, bottle, Secchi disk, and thermosalinograph. The Marine Optical Characterization Experiment (MOCE) and Marine Optical Buoy (MOBY) programs are part of the calibration/validation study for the United States' Ocean Color Program. These programs are funded by the National Aeronautic and Space Administration's (NASA) Earth Observing Systems (EOS) program and implemented by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Environmental Satellite and Data Information Service (NOAA/NESDIS) line office. MOBY is a moored buoy (38 ft, 2500 lbs) that houses state-of-the-art, high-resolution instrumentation which measures visible and near-infrared solar radiation entering and leaving the ocean. MOBY data are used for the vicarious calibration of ocean color satellite sensors. MOCE data, which are acquired from shipboard in-situ measurements, are primarily used to verify products derived from ocean color satellite imagery. This data accession includes in-situ data of MOCE cruises 1-5 between 1991 and 1999 as made available by the Goddard Space Flight Center from the SeaBASS database as of November 2000.
