The International GO-SHIP Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.

The Pacific Ocean S04P repeat hydrographic line was reoccupied for the US Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program. The survey of S04P 2018 consisted of CTDO, rosette, LADCP, UVP, water samples and underway measurements. The ship departed from the port of Hobart on the island of Tasmania, Australia and completed the cruise in the port of Punta Arenas, Chile.

This dataset includes discrete bottle profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity, pH on total scale, CFCs, temperature, salinity, oxygen, nutrients and other measurements obtained during R/V Ryofu Maru cruises RF13-06 and RF13-07 in the Pacific Ocean on GO-SHIP Repeat Hydrography Section P03W (EXPOCODE 49UP20130619) from 2013-06-19 to 2013-09-18. The observation line along approximately 24°N was observed by Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), USA in 1985 and Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Japan in 2005–2006. These cruises were carried out as ‘WHP-P03’, which is a part of WOCE (World Ocean Circulation Experiment) Hydrographic Programme, CLIVAR (Climate Variability and Predictability Project) and GO-SHIP (Global Ocean Ship-based Hydrographic Investigations Program).

The Maria S Merian MSM60 expedition was the first basin-wide section across the South Atlantic following the SAMBA/SAMOC line at 34°30’S. The scientific program consisted of full water depth sampling (up to 5300m) using the CTD/O2/lADCP rosette system.

The survey of P06 2017 consisted of CTDO, rosette, LADCP, chipod, water samples and underway measurements. The ship departed from the port of Papeete on the island of Tahiti, French Polynesia and completed the cruise in the port of Valparaiso, Chile.

The WHP-P01 section was previously observed in 1985 by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (USA), in 1999 by the Japan Fisheries Agency, the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), the Institute of Ocean Sciences (Canada), and in 2007 by the JAMSTEC. This study was conducted under the Global Ocean Ship-based Hydrographic Investigations Program (GO-SHIP).
