7MF06 SeaCAT Data
To recover and deploy surface and subsurface oceanographic instrumentation moorings at several locations in the Bering Sea. To complete CTD casts and plankton tows at sampling stations in and around the mooring locations and along the 70 meter isobath. To collect data on the physical, chemical and biological parameters at each sampling station.

The primary objective of the cruise was the recovery and deployment of moorings in the Bering Sea. The second objective was physical oceanographic property sampling at and near the mooring locations.

The primary objective of this cruise will be the recovery and deployment of moorings in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea.

The objectives of this cruise are to conduct an ichthyoplankton survey and process oriented studies in the region between Unimak Pass, the Shumagin Islands, and through Shelikof Strait to Kodiak Island, Alaska, so that we may estimate the abundance, transport, and factors influencing the survival of young walleye pollock larvae. We will also occupy stations on Line 8 to continue our 18-year time series of environmental and biological conditions in Shelikof Strait. In the event of high algal concentrations encountered at a survey station in the strait region and in the sea valley region, sampling will be conducted for a forage fish diet study.

The late-summer FOCI cruise is designed to address biological and methodological questions regarding age-0 walleye pollock in the western Gulf of Alaska. The primary cruise objective is to map age-0 pollock density over an area of high environmental heterogeneity, and to relate variations in fish density with environmental variability to provide some insight regarding pollock habitat suitability.
3MF02 SeaCAT Data
공공데이터포털
To conduct an ichthyoplankton survey in the Bering Sea in the vicinity of Unimak Island, Alaska. This work is needed to describe larval fish assemblages in the Bering Sea (slope, outer shelf, and middle shelf) in spring. Zooplankton data and data on physical characteristics of the water column will also be collected. The primary objective of this cruise was to examine community structure and transport of fish larvae and plankton on the continental shelf, slope, and deep water areas of the southeastern Bering Sea and Unimak Pass. Hydrographic, nutrient, and microzooplankton samples were also collected.

This research area is focused on improving and reducing uncertainty in stock assessment models of important commercial fish species in the Bering Sea through the collection of fisheries oceanographic indices.

The primary objective of this cruise will be mooring operations – including recoveries, deployments and searches - in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea. Additionally, there will be biological sampling at mooring sites and the 70 m isobath line. A SBE 19Plus was deployed synoptically with gear used to sample icythoplankton and zooplankton at these locations. Temperature and Conductivity were measured and Salinity and Sigma-T were derived from these measurements. While the SeaCAT measures values on the down and upcasts, only the upcasts are used.

We will conduct an ichthyoplankton survey in the Bering Sea in the vicinity of Unimak Island, Alaska. This work is needed to describe larval fish and zooplankton assemblages in the Bering Sea - basin, slope, outer shelf, middle shelf - in spring. In particular, this area is a known spawning ground for walleye pollock, northern rocksole, Greenland halibut, and Alaska plaice, and abundances of larvae at this time of year are high. Data on physical characteristics of the water column will also be collected. Satellite tracked drifters may be released in the Unimak Island and/or Bering canyon vicinities to study depth-discrete current trajectories.
