Physical data were collected from Bottle, MBT, XBT, and CTD casts from the Andaman and Burma Seas, Bay of Bengal, Malacca Straits, and the Indian Ocean. Data were collected from August 28, 1976 to January 07, 2009. Data were collected and submitted by the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), India and provided to the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Physical parameters include temperature and salinity profiles.

Physical, nutrients, and other data were collected from CTD and bottle casts from the North Pacific Ocean from 19 February 1991 to 31 December 2000. Parameters include water depth, temperature, and salinity. Parameters also include concentrations of chlorophyll, silicate, phosphate, nitrate, and nitrite. Minkley, B.G., and F.A. Whitney. 2001. Nutrients, salinity, temperature, and other data were collected from multiple ships from January 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999. Data were submitted by Messina Institute of Experimental Thalassography. Data were collected using bottle, CTD, and XBT casts in the Southern Ocean. These data files are in NODC SD2 format. The SD2 file format is used for physical-chemical oceanographic data recorded at discrete depth levels. Most of the observations were made using multi-bottle Nansen casts or other types of water samplers. A small amount (about 5%), were obtained using electronic CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) or STD (salinity-temperature-depth) recorders. The CTD/STD data were reported to NODC at depth levels equivalent to Nansen cast data, however, and have been processed and stored the same as the Nansen data. Cruise information, position, date and time are reported for each station. Each station contains the measurements taken at observed depth levels, but also includes data values interpolated to a set of standard depth levels.

Temperature profile, pressure, nutrients, and biological data were collected using bottle, mooring, and CTD casts from R/V TYRO in the Indian Ocean from 01 May 1992 to 01 February 1993.
