Cruises took place from 18 April 1952 to 7 December 2012 in Caspian, Black and Azov Seas. Various vessels were used to collect data in the open sea. Data collection activities were also carried out in the coastal zone from small boats. Oceanographic data were used for weather forecasts and monitoring the state of the biological resources of Caspian, Black and Azov Seas.

Cruises took place from April 1996 to March 2013 in the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean. Cruises were part of the long-term Ecological Monitoring program funded by the Russian Academy of Sciences and Murmansk Marine Biological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences to collect data for study of mechanisms of influence of Arctic environment on the state of marine life.
