Nutrients and temperature profile data were collected using bottle, XBT, and CTD casts in the North Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan, and other Sea areas from 01 January 1965 to 31 December 2002. Data were submitted by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).

Profiles of temperature, salinity, and other measurements received from the Japan Oceanographic Data Center, Hydrographic and Oceanographic Department as a submission to the WDC Silver Spring (IODE). The oceanographic data observed by research institutes in Japan as a part of the lODE activity promoted by IOC/UNESCO. An enclosed CD-ROM (transfer media only) contains following data. The data are sorted into specific folders by each institution. The institutes are: 1. National Institute for Environmental Studies STD, Serial Station (1995-2003) 2. Fisheries Experimental Station, the Government-General of Korea (before the World War II) Serial Station (1935-36,1940) 3. National Fisheries University XBT, CTD (2003-2006) 4. Tohoku University XBT, XCTD (2008) 5. Mie Prefecture Fisheries High School CTO (2006-2008) 6. JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology) OTO (2004) Please note that we corrected some data which JODC had sent to NODC before. Salinity and temperature profile data were collected using XBT, CTD and XCTD casts from R/V MIRAI in the North/South Pacific Ocean and other Sea areas from 14 February 2001 to 18 December 2001. Data were submitted by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC).

Physical and Chemical Oceanographic Time Series (Line-P) containing profiles for Nutrients, temperature, salinity near Ocean Station PAPA (50 deg N;145 deg W). The data from the CD-ROM contains the BT Data observed by Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force from 1995 to 2001, Japan Antarctic Research Expedition data up to the 42nd, Serial station data observed by Hydrographic Department before 1945, XBT data observed by Japan Coast Guard from 2002 to 2003, XBT data observed by TOHOKU University and CTD data by Ocean Research Institute, TOKYO University at the MARIANA Trench.

The data are only available within a Portable Document Format (PDF). In addition to the standard CTD parameters (depth, temperature, salinity), there are 8 other water chemistry parameters included for some casts. There are 6 casts in total. Current measurements from ADCP at the time of each cast are available for select levels.
