Federal NYTD Reviewer Opportunity
공공데이터포털
The National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) is a federal reporting system that collects information on youth transitioning out of foster care. States administering the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood (Chafee) must report on the services provided to young people and also conduct a survey using a cohort methodology at ages 17, 19, and 21. Recognizing the integral role of young adults in successfully designing services and implementing a survey for young people, the Children’s Bureau has engaged young adults through the NYTD Reviewer program to guide this work. NYTD Reviewers are between the ages of 18 and 28, have lived experience with the child welfare system, and are interested in the use of data to inform system improvements. Three to four NYTD Reviewers participate as members of the federal monitoring team for each onsite review. NYTD is an opportunity to engage young people as partners in data collection, analysis, dissemination, and the use of data. As a member of the Federal Review Team, a NYTD Reviewer participates in all aspects of the review, including pre-onsite phase preparations, onsite review activities, and providing input on the Final Report findings and NYTD Improvement Plan. The following resources provide additional information about the qualifications and responsibilities of NYTD Reviewers: On behalf of the Children’s Bureau, JBS International, Inc.'s Child Welfare Compliance Reviews Team (CWCRT) maintains a national pool of NYTD Reviewers to support the Children’s Bureau in administering the federal NYTD Reviews. Given the highly technical nature of the NYTD Review process, young people gain knowledge by participating in a training for which they are compensated, and for which travel costs are covered. CWCRT also conducts other skills-based trainings periodically as needed. NYTD Reviewers receive reimbursement for participating in trainings, reviews, and other NYTD-related work. They also receive reimbursement for travel expenses, and a per diem rate for meals and incidental expenses. The following resources provide additional information for those interested in serving as a NYTD Reviewer: If you believe you are qualified to participate, please email CWCRT at cw-mail@jbsinternational.com for a NYTD Reviewer application packet.
