All raw data used to generate results
This dataset contains all data used in this study, including site ID, latitude, longitude, watershed land cover, water chemistry, and carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of periphyton, invertebrate functional feeding groups, and five most frequently observed invertebrate families. Also included is a list of all invertebrates collected in this study along with their functional feeding group and stable isotope ratios. This dataset is associated with the following publication: Smucker, N., A. Kuhn, C. Cruz-Quinones, J. Serbst, and J. Lake. Stable isotopes of algae and macroinvertebrates in streams respond to watershed urbanization, inform management goals, and indicate food web relationships. ECOLOGICAL INDICATORS. Biological, watershed land use & physiochemical data from streams sampled in the Georgia Coastal Plain

Benthic macroinvertebrates sampled from 76 small streams in the Georgia Coastal Plain. Additional data includes in-situ physiochemcial water quality data, physical stream habitat data and land use data in the watershed draining to the sample stream reach, as well as in the immediate riparian zone adjacent to all stream reaches upstream of the sample reach. These data were used to develop a biological condition index for evaluating stream restoration projects in this region. The two excel files provide zooplankton and benthic macroinvertebrate data, respectively, underlying the publication. The data consist of sample by taxa matrices for Isle Royale in 2012, Apostle Islands in 2017, Lake Superior CSMI in 2016, and Lake Superior NCCA in 2015. Upper Skagit Reservoir Food Web Data, 2005-2021

This release includes data used to evaluate the structure and function of the Ross Lake and Diablo Lake food webs. This includes data on zooplankton density and production (zooplankton_density.csv and daphnia_region_production_biomass.csv), lake volume estimates used to expand zooplankton density and production data (lake_volume_estimates.csv), fish sampling (FishSampleEvents.csv), fish biological information including diets, age, and stable isotope analysis (FishFullData_formatted.csv, FishPreyLength.csv), scale back-calculations (salmonid_back_calc.csv, rss_back_calc.csv), fish energy density (calorimetry_processed.csv), stable isotope data for invertebrate end members (si_inverts.csv), and hydroacoustic sampling (ross_ha_densities.csv, diablo_ha_densities.csv). Fish and zooplankton sampling and stable isotope analysis were conducted by the USGS in 2019-2021, and hydroacoustics surveys were conducted in 2021. These data were also combined with fish data (species, size, age) from the National Park Service collected in 2005-2017 to evaluate fish size and age structure across a larger period of time. The bioenergetics model and information on running the model including inputs and outputs from our simulations and a user guide can be found the in FB4.zip folder. Please refer to the associated publications for additional details about data collection and processing.

These raw data associated with this research were collected as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's 2018-2019 National Rivers and Streams Assessment (NRSA). The worksheet "Water chemistry data" includes environmental variables examined in this study including total phosphorus (TP), total nitrogen (TN), conductivity, pH, and ecoregion. The worksheet "Diatom ASVs" includes relative abundances of gene sequence reads for each amplicon sequence variant (ASV), which are referred to as taxa.
