Ambrosia Beetle Repellent Trap Testing
These data contain ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) trapping data using two different repellents in two different trials at Waiākea Forest Reserve. Beetles were trapped using cross vane panel traps equipped with 50:50 Ethanol:Methanol lures in the first trial and with black panel multi-traps equipped with 100% Ethanol lures in the second trial. Both trials tested the ability of two different beetle repellents, one verbenone formulation, and one verbnone + methyl salicylate, to deter beetle catch.

연관 데이터
ROD beetles from sticky traps, Hawaii, 2019-2021
공공데이터포털
This data release includes metadata and tabular data that describes ambrosia beetles that were collected on sticky traps placed on trees inoculated with Ceratocystis lukuohia and on control trees which were not inoculated with the fungus. The dataset includes beetles identified by species and the date on which they were collected. Two sticky traps were placed on each tree.
Beetle Visitation to Healthy ʻŌhiʻa Trees Experiment 2
공공데이터포털
These data contain the documentation of ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) attack on healthy ʻōhiʻa trees. Beetles were collected on sticky cards.
Kauaʻi Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD) Ambrosia Beetles 2020-2021
공공데이터포털
This data release includes data and metadata containing documentation of 1) ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species caught in cross-vane panel traps (CVPT) in ʻōhiʻa (Metrosideros polymorpha) dominated forests with geographical locations and elevations and 2) ambrosia beetle species reared directly from cut ʻōhiʻa tree sections (bolts) infected with Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD) causing pathogens at various elevations from Kauaʻi, HI USA. Data were used in a study describing bark and ambrosia beetles associated with ROD and ʻōhiʻa lehua forests on Kauaʻi.
Island of Hawai'i Ambrosia Beetle Trapping Data and Locations of Suspected Ceratocystis-positive ʻōhiʻa at Two Sites, 2021-2022
공공데이터포털
This data release includes data and metadata documenting 1) ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species caught in multi-panel traps within ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) dominated forests in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park as well as results from culturing Ceratocystis lukuohia or Ceratocystis huliohia, the fungi that cause rapid ʻōhiʻa death (ROD), from these traps, 2) GPS coordinates for each trap and 3) ʻōhiʻa tree coordinates and descriptions.
Beetle Visitation to Healthy ʻŌhiʻa Trees Experiment 1
공공데이터포털
These data contain the documentation of ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) attack or colonization on healthy ʻōhiʻa trees that were wounded or un-wounded. Beetles are attracted to stressed trees that emit an ethanol scent which was simulated with wounding. Beetles were collected on sticky cards and gallery (tunnels where beetles live) formation was documented.
Waipunalei Beetle Trap Data
공공데이터포털
These data contain the longhorn beetle (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) and ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Scolytinae) trap data collected at Waipunalei, Hawaii Island.
ROD beetles from boring dust traps, Hawaii, 2019-2021
공공데이터포털
This data release includes metadata and tabular data that describes ambrosia beetles that emerged from galleries within trees inoculated with Ceratocystis lukuohia. Beetles were collected in boring dust traps (BDTs) that were placed over the entrances of active galleries. The dataset includes beetles identified by species and the date on which they collected.
Experimental Development of ROD Disease
공공데이터포털
These data contain the results of ʻōhiʻa seedlings challenged with different ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species that were exposed to either Ceratocystis lukuohia or Ceratocystis huliohia in culture. Disease development, viability, and DNA confirmation data were recorded.
Island of Hawaiʻi Ambrosia Beetles and Ceratocystis Viability in Two Site, 2021-2022
공공데이터포털
These data include ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species collected in multi-panel traps placed in grids within ʻŌlaʻa Forest and the Kahuku unit of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National park between June 2021 and Februrary 2022 along with results from culturing viable Ceratocystis fungi from these trap collections.
Frass viability of ROD-infected ohia, Hawaii, 2019-2021
공공데이터포털
This data release includes metadata and tabular data that describes results of testing beetle frass collected in BDT (boring dust traps) for viable Ceratocystis lukuohia. Frass was collected in BDTs that were placed over the entrances of active beetle galleries.
