Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. A set of 1:12,000-scale CIR aerial photographs was collected on October 9, 2005 (funded by the NPS VIP, and the photo mission was supervised by GLKN staff). This set of photography covered the full project boundary extent and was the primary imagery used in photointerpretative mapping. In addition to the CIR photos, a set of 1:12,000-scale TC aerial photographs were collected May 11, 2004, providing deciduous leaf-off viewing of the entire extent. This photo mission was funded and supervised by GLKN staff. Having the TC photos gave interpreters a definite advantage in determining evergreen tree and shrub components within forest communities that are otherwise obscured by deciduous tree canopy on the fall-season CIR photos, thus giving credence to Avery’s statement regarding lack of a single all-purpose film emulsion.

This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. One complete set of aerial photography was provided for the project, including both a set of prints and diapositives. The specifications for the aerial photography are listed below: Color infrared photography (CIR) Flown October 29, 1996 - (height of the leaf change) Nominal scale - 1:6,000 (Nominal refers to the photo scale variability within each aerial photo and across flight lines. In this case the photo scale ranged from approximately 1:5,800 to 1:6,200) Approximate photo size - 9" x 9" Overlap between photos and across flight paths met the standards for photo interpretation using a mirror stereo scope. (Approximately 60% between photos and 10% - 20% between the flight lines)

공공데이터포털
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Existing sources of imagery were evaluated for vegetation mapping and geodatabase development for CIRO. Among the current sources of imagery were NAIP products from which the 2006 1-meter resolution product was determined adequate for mapping. The 2006 NAIP imagery was originally used to delineate obvious land-use and physiognomic boundaries. However in 2009, NAIP acquired new 1-meter resolution (true-color format) for the entire state of Idaho. Following examination, the 2009 NAIP imagery for Cassia County, Idaho was deemed superior in color and was more recent so the vegetation mapping was switched from the 2006 imagery to the 2009 product (Figure 12). All previous land-use and physiognomic linework was updated and the final map product is based solely on the 2009 NAIP ortho-imagery.

Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Base Imagery = BOR-supplied 2002, True-color, 3-band, 1-meter, 1:12,000-scale ortho-image, NAIP 2009, True-color, 3-band, 1-meter, 1:12,000-scale ortho-image All of the ground information obtained in 2007 was documented and summarized to apply to the NAIP ortho-imagery and the final list of NVC associations for LARO in 2008 and 2009. CTI created preliminary map classes based on the ORNHIC preliminary list of plant associations developed from previous projects and all developed areas, roads, streams, badlands exposures, and other obvious features were manually digitized and incorporated with the project boundary into a draft GIS layer.

This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. Sanborn Mapping Company, Inc. acquired color infrared, stereo pair, 1:12,000 scale aerial photography for a digital orthophoto mosaic of GARI on March 27, 2003, during leaf-off conditions. The aerial photographs were delivered to the NPS, quality checked, accepted as provided, and sent to NCSU. Upon receipt at NCSU, the aerial photographs were counted to make sure that none were missing, scanned and saved in TIFF format, and placed in the data archive that NCSU maintains for the NPS Northeast Region Inventory & Monitoring Program. Associated data and information provided by Sanborn Mapping Company, Inc. that are also stored in the data archive include the airborne global positioning system (GPS) and inertial mapping unit (IMU) data files, the camera calibration certificate, and a digital flight index map.
